Players to Watch in Live Period
In this column, we at PrepHoopsNC are taking a look at some players to watch during the April live period.
Malik Johnson, 2019 G (NC Red Storm)-Strong body, athletic point guard. Smooth jump shot. Great change of pace in transition or off the dribble. Quick first step and uses it to get into paint.
James Hampton, 2019, W 6’6 (Team United)-Plays really hard. Has length & explosion and is solid In transition running the floor as a wing. Defends multiple positions & rebounds above average for his size.
Demarcus Johnson, 2019 G 6’4 (Mooresville Magic)-Has Long arms and plays with a great pace. Athletic build and game. Has the ability to defend more than one position on the floor.
Dylan Cardwell, 2019 F 6’9 (Team CP3 16’s)-Size, long. runs floor well and an athletic player. Has a high up-side with his style of play and his skillset so far. Able to dunk anything he gets close to the rim.
Cameron Stitt, 2020 F 6’8 (Team CP3 16’s)-Great size and is able to shoot the ball out to the three-point line. He is a strong rebounder and is able to run the floor well in transition. He can finish plays above the rim consistently.
Jackson Threadgill, 2020 SG/W 6’6 (PSB Elite Hairston 16’s)-One of the best shooters in his class for NC. Can consistently make shots out to the three point line, able to get his shot off coming off screens and moving without the ball quickly. Skilled.
Javarzia BeltonJavarzia Belton, 2020 F, 6’8, (Team United 16’s)-Long and athletic with good timing on shot blocking and rebounding. Soft hands and has a soft touch around the rim.
Jadakiss Bonds, 2018, 6’4 G (NC Red Storm)-Understands the game, has a good shot, can consistently make shots out to the three-point line, has an ability to play either guard position. Sees the whole floor really well and is an above average passer.
Tyzhaun Claudle, 2018 6’8, F (PSB Elite 17’s)-Wingspan, long and high-energy, runs the floor well and can finish in transition. Has a good shot out to the three-point line and can make shots spotting up or off the catch.
