Recruiting Report: Bobby Miller (2018)
Bobby Miller, a class of 2018 guard from Paint Branch High School, was one of the top performers at Hoop Group’s NoVA Top 100 Camp last weekend. Given his superb display of athleticism, it’s hard to believe he is just five months removed from breaking a toe on his right foot.
“My senior season started off slow because I was coming off an injury, but towards the end of the season I started to pick things up,” said Miller, who was injured in the preseason, but returned for the first game. “I tried to dunk on one of my teammates in practice, and I broke it coming down.”
A 6-foot-3 lefty, Miller is a terrific athlete, and can attack the rim from all spots on the court. He’s not known as a shooter, but if left open, the unsigned senior can be an occasional threat.
“My jump shot is the most underrated part of my game,” Miller explained. “A lot of people think I can’t shoot, but I can. My shot is actually the most improved part of my game as well. Me being more confident shooting the ball plays a big part in that.”
Miller, who is being actively recruited by several JUCO’s in Maryland, playing either guard spot at the next level. He is sharpening his ball handing skills in preparation for this. Washington Adventist has reportedly offered Miller a scholarship, but we expect more programs to follow suit within the next few weeks.
“I’m gonna give it about a month,” said Miller of his timetable for a decision. “I know there are a few coaches interested in me.”
What can he bring to a college program?
“Me talking on defense. Just being an all around player. On and off the court.”
Bobby Miller is ranked by Prep Hoops as a top 75 prospect in his class.
