NCHSAA East Regionals Standouts: Forwards
Northside HS Senior Forward Elliot Daggerfield: Another player that was efficient on the squad and didn’t try to do anything that he wasn’t comfortable with, instead he stayed within the flow of the game and had a nice showing.18 points on 7 on 9 FGA would be his final numbers and defensively he was solid as well, a nice overall player for a smaller college program.
Northside HS Senior Forward Jason Mixon: His numbers on the day won’t scream at you but he is one that college coaches at the JC level should be taking a look at. At about 6’5 with nice athleticism, a long wingspan and raw talent, he is one that could blossom once he is in the right college program.
Pamlico County Junior Forward George Jones: The impact he had on the game and for his team cannot even be explained, he brings a little of everything to the table for his squad. Although he is only 6’1 he battles with bigs, grabs rebounds, finishes putbacks and plays with all his heart.
Pamlico County Junior Forward Lamont Murray: Another player for the Pamlico squad that plays the way that they love to play, which is very very fast. He made his mark on the game by getting after it on the defensive end of the floor and forcing rushed possession as well turnovers.
Rocky Mount Prep Senior Forward Keyshawn Bryant: At 6’5 with an average of 22 points a game, you can see why he such an interesting prospect. He competes hard and is very aggressive, especially on the offensive end of the floor, athletic player.
Rocky Mount Prep Sophomore Forward/Center Donnie Tillery: He still has a ways to go but you have to like the upside of this young man. Once he gets his body into top shape, he can develop into a nice prospect without a doubt. Already he has good timing, solid hands and a nice feel/understanding for the game.
