WESTWOOD — Pauley Pavilion on the campus of UCLA played host to the second annual Trinity-Mission League Challenge over the weekend, a seven-game showcase event featuring cross-league matchups of two of the top high school basketball leagues in the country. We were in the building for all seven of the games on the day and below are the top scoring guards we watched.

[player_tooltip player_id='3026766' first='Christian' last='Rogers'] | 2027 | Campbell Hall

Rogers is a combo guard type with a combination of speed, quickness and aggressiveness that allows him to break defenders down in isolation or get paint touches on transition drives. He comes in a smaller package - standing at 5-feet-8 - but his dynamic playmaking and scoring abilities make up for his lack of size. The junior finished with 15 points in a loss to Crean Lutheran.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435366' first='Cole' last='Holden'] | 2027 | Harvard-Westlake

With his high scoring teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1956504' first='Joe' last='Sterling'] being face-guarded and denied basically the entire game, another guard had to step up on the scoring front and it was Holden. The 6-foot-2 junior is a smooth-shooting off-guard whose simple game - catch-and-shoot threes, smart drives and finishes and off-ball cuts and movement - make him a perfect fit for the Harvard-Westlake offense. Holden finished with a team-high 18 points including two 3-pointers and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435392' first='Earl' last='Bryson'] | 2027 | JSerra

Bryson is known as a defensive-minded combo guard and while he didn't stray away from that strength of his game, he stepped up in the scoring department for the Lions. The 6-foot-2 junior has a strong frame, good burst with the ball and the ability to put pressure on the rim in transition or half-court offense by getting paint touches. Bryson used those paint touches to get to the rim where he finished through contact and got to the free throw line. He scored a team-high 19 points, including 8-for-10 from the free throw line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194692' first='Isaiah' last='Barnes'] | 2027 | Crespi

Barnes is fast becoming one of SoCal's best combo guards in the 2027 class. The 6-foot-2 junior has predicated his game on being a high motor, high energy, aggressive attacker of the rim who uses his physicality to initiate and finish through contact but he showed Saturday that he has improved his three-point shot. Barnes scored 16 of his 24 points in the first half of a big win over Mater Dei, including four three-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2888818' first='Josh' last='King'] | 2026 | Orange Lutheran

King makes up one part of the Lancers' dynamic shooting duo - the other will be the next mention - and is a guy who doesn't need much time or space to get his shot off. The 6-foot-3 senior is a knock-down guy in off-catch and off-movement situations from multiple spots of the floor with deep range. King knocked down five 3-pointers and finished with 18 points in Orange Lutheran's comeback win over St. Francis.

[player_tooltip player_id='2893813' first='Noah' last='Zeola'] | 2028 | Orange Lutheran

Zeola is one of those shooters who you don't want to allow to see one go in because he could go on a run of making five or more in a row. The 6-foot-1 sophomore is a quick-trigger spot shooter whose lightning fast release and undeniable confidence makes him a dangerous threat from distance. Zeola hit four three-pointers and scored a game-high 19 points in a win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436287' first='Richie' last='Ramirez'] | 2027 | Mater Dei

Ramirez stepped up to the plate as the primary scoring option for Mater Dei while Crespi focused in on doing everything possible to deny touches and shots for the Monarchs' Barnett. The transfer from North San Diego County-based San Marcos got to his comfort zones of mid-range jumpers and at-rim finishes that led to him scoring a game-high 28 points in a loss to Crespi.
