Holden enters a senior season as a prospect who has shown steady improvements throughout his high school career and is now one part of the Wolverines’ two-headed monster at the guard position. The 6-foot-2 combo guard, who recently pledged to UC Riverside, will step into a bigger role on the ball and assume more true point guard duties after spending the majority of his first three seasons as a secondary ball-handler. Holden has looked pretty comfortable with that added weight on his shoulders and is still a very efficient perimeter scorer.

Holden was steady and efficient with his scoring and shooting as he led Harvard-Westlake to a one-point win over Orange Lutheran. The recent UC Riverside-commit finished with a team-high 17 points while connecting on 4-for-7 from distance. Holden has evolved from off-catch shooting threat to a guy who can hit those perimeter jumpers off the bounce when defenders go under ball screens.

Holden’s combination of shot-making, defensive toughness and improved on-ball creating for teammates helped lead Harvard-Westlake into the championship game of the Wayne Newton bracket. The 6-foot-2 combo guard took over late in a tight semifinal win over Damien where his pull-up jumper – from three and mid-range, going either way – propelled the Wolverines into the title game. Holden is as solid as they come as a decision-maker, leader and competitor.

Team Why Not has one of the deepest teams in the country for the 2027 class, winning peach jam at the 15 U level and having another strong performance at 16 U. Holden has a strong frame, can finish with either hand at the rim and is playing for winning programs at both the high school and grassroots level. Already holding offers from top regional mid major programs like UCSB and UCSD, Holden is already being pursued by winning programs at the next level as well.

I really enjoyed watching Team Why Not 16 U as they have a handful of guys who can beat you. Holden was my favorite of the bunch as his early layup where he switched hands in mid-air really caught my eye. Holden also had a nice extension step finish and could use either hand to score at the rim. Combine that skill with a strong frame that didn’t get pushed around on the defensive end of the court and Holden was impactful in a double-digit win for his team that’s looking for a second consecutive Peach Jam title.
