Prospect Spotlight: Josh Adoh (2019)
Few live up to the term “high motor” the way St. John Bosco’s Josh Adoh does.
The 6-foot-4 wing provides spark and energy on both sides of the ball and has embraced the role as a hustle and glue guy, which is rubbing off on the rest of his teammates.
“I’ve always worked hard; that’s just me,” Adoh told Prep Hoops So-Cal. “I feel like coach Dunn and my teammates have that same mentality. It’s not something we preach because It comes naturally and it’s part of our culture.”
St. John Bosco wing Josh Adoh says his work ethic is something he’s always had.Adoh has turned the corner as an offensive player this year mainly due to an improved 3-point shot to go along with his slashing and finishing ability in transition and half-court settings.
The junior is averaging better than 15 points and six rebounds per game this season in helping the Braves to 22 winds.
“My shooting ability and our teamwork have helped me have a good season,” Adoh said. “I honestly believe without my team I would be a normal person. They work really hard to get me open shots.
“I worked really hard in the offseason and I believe that nobody can guard me,” he added. “That’s the mentality I go in to every game with.”
Adoh is using his tireless work ethic to continue to round out his perimeter skill set and is eyeing the next steps he wants to take in his game.
“The next step for me is to work on my ball handling,” he said. “I also want to become a better shooter off the dribble, be a better passer, read the defense and be aware of mismatches. I just want to have a better basketball IQ.”
Adoh turned in a 4.0 grade point average last semester and boasts a 3.8 GPA overall.
