Monday night was the start of the playoffs for the [program_tooltip program_id='2830289' first='Vikings' last='United'] Fall League. There were several games played and I was lucky to catch some awesome up-and-coming big men in the south suburbs. Here were the prospects that stood out to me.

[player_tooltip player_id='2540205' first='John' last='Brown IV'] Homewood Flossmoor 2028

Brown is one of the prospects that H-F is depending on to have a surge in progress this upcoming season. He is a bouncy forward at 6'7” who caught a strong tip dunk over two defenders. His activity didn't stop there he blocked a shot head-on at the rim and even dove for a loose ball while being up double digits. John is playing the game with confidence and showing some toughness early on. It was good to catch him playing well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2891906' first='Cameron' last='Daniels'] Marian Catholic 2026

A 6'4 wide body forward who scored a few ways for Marian Catholic. He showed himself to be mobile and light on his feet. He protected the ball well when driving to score. Cameron has a good combination of strength and agility when playing near the basket but it was the three-pointer he made with a player running at him that caught our attention. Daniels is talented and can be one of the options for this new Marian Squad.

Terrence Richardson Hilcrest 2027

Richardson is another player I caught tonight. A 6'7 slender and athletic big man that caught my eye with a two-handed slam that woke up the gym. After that he blocked a shot clean off the backboard but the referee called it a goaltending. Terrence ran the floor well and caught another dunk just by being in the right place during a fastbreak. His team was down for most of the game and made a late run behind some of the energy plays Richardson had created. He is poised to have a breakout season if he plays with that type of consistency.

[player_tooltip player_id='2891720' first='Julius' last='Hamlin'] 2026 Butler Prep

A guard who broke out late last season for the Noble League school was back at it. Julius was slippery in traffic getting to the basket pretty often and finishing with various layups. Hamlin has a way of using the backboard while still taking contact on plays. Julius has a quick change of pace to his game while still being in control. Before the half was over he sized the defender up and hit a three right over the closeout. Hamlin is ready for a big season ahead.

Joe Martello Andrew 2026

Martello is a 6'6 two-sport (baseball) big man who can play inside and out. He hit a pair of threes from the top of the key early showing some stretch forward ability. Later on he was around the basket posting up and working for rebounds. Joe played with good patience and energy showing some flashes as a passer whenever he needed to reverse the ball.
