Here are a couple players to know from several teams in Section 2AA as we continue to prep for the winter season!

Albert Lea

[player_tooltip player_id='2121383' first='Carter' last='Conn'] (2026). Connor is a 6'3 junior shooting guard that led Albert Lea last year in both scoring (12.4 ppg) and rebounding (nine per game) and he returns to help the Tigers take a step from a six win season. Connor is the guy to lead, he averaged 13 and nine as a sophomore and he is doing this as a guard.

Noah Teeter (2026). Another reason we think Albert Lea could take a step forward is Noah. He scored 12.4 points a game last year as well with a 5.6 rebound per game average. He is a 6'4 forward and Noah also placed third in the state golf tournament last year. Albert Lea brings their entire rotation back.

Belle Plaine

[player_tooltip player_id='2118474' first='Ethan' last='Martin'] (2026, Minnesota Swish). Martin scored 23 points per game last year as a Class AA All State player and he will enter the season as a preseason Class AA first team all state player. Martin was a 17U all state standout this summer with the Minnesota Swish and huge things are expected this winter. Martin is one of the toughest players to stop one on one in the state when it comes to forwards.

Kelton Koepp (2026). Koepp is a backcourt player that can play either guard spot and his tank of energy is larger than yours. This accomplished runner can push the ball, defend, and attack longer than his opponents and they will need him to step up his game another level. Kelton scored ten points a game last season.

Blooming Prairie

[player_tooltip player_id='2126171' first='Gabe' last='Staloch'] (2027). Gabe is a player that we have big expectations for. He's entering his third year as a starting lead guard and he will likely be honored all conference for the third straight year. This three sport athlete is your point guard - quarterback -shortstop trio trusted everywhere in all sports. In hoops he scored 16.6 points a game last year as the point guard who distributes, defends, works hard and can score.

Bradley Boyd (2026). Staloch has a quality backcourt mate in Boyd who is an athletic player that scored 7/8 points a game last year and should take a step forward. Boyd is a very active player and when he is not giving the Blossoms active baskets, he's catching touchdown passes from Staloch.

Blue Earth

[player_tooltip player_id='2391636' first='Sully' last='Dahlberg'] (2027, Minnesota Stong). Dahlberg is a 6'4 forward that often led Blue Earth in scoring last year with his hard work and consistency. Sullivan is a standout football player and basketball player for Blue Earth and we think he is a big reason Blue Earth could improve by five or six wins this season. Why? What we saw from Sully this 16u season was one of the most relentless workers out there on the glass, on defense, and getting up and down.

[player_tooltip player_id='2912515' first='Will' last='Bromeland'] (2026, Minnesota Rise). Bromeland is a 6'4 guard/wing prospect with a lot of potential. He can shoot and he can use a couple dribbles with good size, plus he has some explosion to him as a finisher. When it comes to the frame, skill and agility this is promise to his game plus Will scored in the high teens as a junior and our staff saw him score 30 in one game with the Rise and close to that in another.

Glencoe-Silver Lake

[player_tooltip player_id='1560769' first='Ethan' last='Sonju'] (2026, Minnesota Swish). If I had to pick a player that I think led Minnesota 17u in scoring this year it would be [player_tooltip player_id='1560769' first='Ethan' last='Sonju']. He was one of the rare 17u kids that consistently hit the 20 point mark (his Swish teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2118474' first='Ethan' last='Martin'] was close behind) and Ethan did it with good percentages. Ethan is a scorer and it's the easiest way to explain it. He could be one of the leading few scorers in the state this year, the potential is there. Averaged nearly 25 a game last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423114' first='Lincoln' last='Busse'] (2027, [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Mantey). The reason Sonju might not lead the state in scoring is a good reason, and that is [player_tooltip player_id='2423114' first='Lincoln' last='Busse'], also from GSL. Lincoln scored 23 points a game as a sophomore with his explosive attack and he could definitely match that for a Panther team that has a chance to be a top ten team this year. Busse also has some explosive pop to his attack.

Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial

Jack Goeringer (2026). Jack is a 5'8 guard that led LCWM in scoring last season. He's an attack guard that brings the ball down hill and he helped lead LCWM to an 18 win season a year ago. Also a standout running back. With Goeringer, Charlie Gengler 6'4 [player_tooltip player_id='2411259' first='Braxton' last='Dudgeon'] and 6'4 Brayden Mathews, LCWM has four returning all league players and it was Gengler and Mathews who were first team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381221' first='Carter' last='Lowis'] (2027, [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select']). Lowis is one of five other LCWM players returning from their to six but Lowis is a bit different as he stands 6'9/6'10, he moves well, and he is a low post shot blocking presence that most of Class AA basketball, and really most of high school basketball, don't. Lowis also has developing skills that make him a key prospect in his class.

Le Sueur-Henderson

[player_tooltip player_id='2417301' first='Hunter' last='Vinkemeier'] (2027, [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Goring). Hunter scored 17 points a game last year and the 6'7/6'8 frontcourt player had an outstanding 16u season earning 16u all state. He's low post skilled and consistent which separates him from many other frontcourt players in his class. The Giants will count on Hunter even more considering they lose their next four top scorers to graduation.

Joseph Lewis (2027). Lewis is the top returning guard and the second leading returning scorer from a season ago when he put up 5.5 points a contest. Also a standout baseball player that played travel baseball and is a good wide receiver who caught a touchdown pass last weekend.

Maple River

[player_tooltip player_id='2357544' first='Cole' last='Davis'] (2027, Minnesota Swing). Davis was a 6'2 sophomore all league first team player a season ago and he led his conference in scoring in ten league games with 20 plus points per game! What's even crazier is that in those league games Cole made 55 of 110 threes which is 50 percent obviously, and as the top scorer with defenses knowing that, he still hit for a high percentage.

[player_tooltip player_id='2411258' first='Avery' last='Bergemann'] (2027, Minnesota Swing). Avery is a strong, hard working player at six feet tall. Had a nice season scoring four buckets a game with the Swing and being one of their leading rebounders, and he was an all league honored sophomore for Maple River. Averaged 11 points and five boards a game a season ago.

Minnesota Valley Lutheran

[player_tooltip player_id='2809791' first='Pierson' last='Brau'] (2028). Brau was the lone MVL player named all league last year and he did it as a freshman. He's a 6'4 wing and athletic competitor that scored in double figures at 13/14 points per game. A big season is expected for Pierson.

[player_tooltip player_id='2833323' first='Luke' last='Merseth'] (2027, Minnesota Rise). Luke scored about eight/nine points a game last season and was one of the elite rebounders in the league at 6'4 grabbing about eight boards a contest as well. The toughness for MVL in the paint but the agility as a combo forward.

Norwood Young America

Kyson Evenski (2026). Kyson was the leading scorer for NYA last year and he returns as a 6'4 wing that can give his team versatile things. Evenski is 6'4, 190 pounds and he is the Raiders quarterback as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2118836' first='Micah' last='Fenney'] (2026). Fenney is a double-double tough guy that gave his team ten points and about eight rebounds a game last season. He's a top 20 football prospect in the state but also a 6'4 210 pound post.

Waseca

[player_tooltip player_id='2121332' first='Deron' last='Russell'] (2026, [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select']). Russell was an All State player regardless of class last year and he is a serious candidate for top five Mr. Basketball. Waseca lost a lot so Russell is going to likely need to score and score a lot. And he is the type of heady athlete that should be able to figure out how to score in bulk and help his team win. Committed to North Dakota State for football.

Ethan Hiller (2026). Ethan is a 6'1 athletic guard that played a worker role for Waseca last season and he along with Russell and worker Wyatt Hager are the three guys back from last year's seven man rotation. Ethan will play college football but he's going to be a key piece as a scorer working off of Russell.

WEM

[player_tooltip player_id='2381767' first='Talen' last='Taylor'] (2026, Minnesota Lightning). Taylor scored 17 points per game last season and should have a big senior season. He's a three sport athlete at 6'4 and a player that teams have to prepare for. Talen scored HS 1,000 point last year in the middle of the season and has a chance to approach that 1,750 area for his career.
