Whether you like it or not, transfers are a part high school basketball at this point. Some are obviously due to legitimate reasons. However, others are often motivated by athletic reasons. The IHSAA recently passed what, for all intents and purposes, is a one-time transfer rule which has made this off-season busier than ever. We here at Prep Hoops Indiana have no real dog in the fight in terms of the transfer epidemic and do not intend to play one side of the issues or the other. Our job is to simply evaluate the prospects. Where they go to school is of no real concern to us. Now that school is back in session and the dust has, mostly, settled let's take a class-by-class look at the impact transfers heading into the 2025-2026 season. We will now dive into the Class of 2027.

This long, athletic 6'6" forward/center caught our attention last summer as a high-upside front court piece to follow. Now, after transferring from Snider to Fort Wayne Northrop he should be in a position to get more playing time and really blossom as a player. Barnes is an above-the-rim player on both ends of the floor.

One of the quickest point guards in the state of Indiana, Daniels made the move from Cathedral to Carmel following the Charlie Hughes Showcase in June. Not only is Daniels lightning quick with the ball in his hands, but he also is one of the most disruptive on-ball perimeter defenders in the state. Look for him to make an instant impact in the Greyhounds backcourt.

Grubbs comes to New Albany from across the river in Louisville and will add some valuable front court depth to a very talented Bulldogs team. He was an impactful addition in June and should fit in seamlessly this winter. The 6'6" forward moves around well for his size, rebounds his area, and can score in a variety of ways offensively.

It is all about upside with this 6'7" center that moved into Kokomo High School for his junior season. We had that the chance to see Kanyinda some this summer both on the UA Rise Circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] and with the Wildkats in June. He plays with a great motor and is bouncy around the basket on the both ends. Look for him to make an instant impact on the interior for Kokomo.

Admittedly, we haven't had a chance to see this 6'6" forward play very much since he came over to Culver Academy. However, based on some brief looks at the IU Team Camp and Charlie Hughes Showcase in June we know he is an intriguing prospect worth following. We look forward to seeing more of this skilled international prospect this winter.

We watched Williams play with Team Soil over the spring and summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit and then the 6'7" big man moved to South Bend St. Joseph for his junior season. He should play an important depth role in the front court for the defending Class 3A State Champions as they move up to Class 4A.
