Expert Analysis
Brandon Ramsey | Prep Hoops Scout
This long, athletic 6’6″ forward/center caught our attention last summer as a high-upside front court piece to follow. Now, after transferring from Snider to Fort Wayne Northrop he should be in a position to get more playing time and really blossom as a player. Barnes is an above-the-rim player on both ends of the floor.

Barnes is a prospect that really came on strong in June and July after we initially posted our Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings. Don’t be surprised to see him make his debut when we expand to a Top 50 and beyond. The left-handed 6’6″ forward/center does a great job of rebounding outside of his area, protecting the rim, and finishing offensively. He is an above-the-rim player on both ends of the floor. Very intriguing upside in a super talented rising sophomore class at Fort Wayne Snider High School.

We highlighted Barnes as a stock-riser in the 2027 class back in late June, but his play in the month of July earned him another mention. A high-upside big man that has flown a bit under-the-radar in a super talented rising sophomore class at Fort Wayne Snider High School, Barnes is a two-way threat around the basket. He runs the floor well, plays above the rim offensively, and can block shots on the defensive end of the floor. Look for him to continue to continue to breakout heading into his sophomore season at Snider. One of the better long-term front court prospects in Fort Wayne’s Class of 2027.
