One of the more intriguing frontcourt prospects I got a chance to watch over the past few months was Culver Academy’s Tomislav Kostelac Tomislav Kostelac 6'10" | PF Culver Academy | 2027 State IN . The first time I got a chance to watch him was at the Run N Slam back in spring and he right away stood out with his length and soft touch around the basket. A big that has good footwork for his size with potential to stretch out his game a bit more.

The 6’10” Big Man for Indiana Elite Team Indiana came off the bench and made his presence felt in a big way. Came in and immediately knocked down two pick and pop 3’s and you could see the confidence in his game. Rebounded really well and was an excellent screen setter all game long. Knows his role and played the best game I had seen out of him.

An ever improving big man that gets better every time I see him. Lane clogging big man with good hands and footwork. Reliable low post scorer that has a soft touch over his left shoulder. Pick and roll threat that can catch and read defenses and find open guys on rotations. Defensive paint presence with his size and length. Formidable shot blocker and really good rebounder. A bit under the radar right now with a chance to really show out during the live period.

Scouting Notes: Super smooth big man that gets to the right spots around the basket. A soft touch when it comes to finishing around the basket. Super long and understands how to use his length to his advantage.

One of the more intriguing bigs that I got a chance to watch for the first time was Tomislav Kostelac Tomislav Kostelac 6'10" | PF Culver Academy | 2027 State IN of Cilver Academies. Kostelac is a 6’10 post prospect that runs with Team Indiana 2027 and brings a very intriguing skillset for his size. He is still raw, but his length is a major advantage and seems to know how to get to the right spots around the basket. He scores with a soft touch, as well.

Big Tomislav Kostelac Tomislav Kostelac 6'10" | PF Culver Academy | 2027 State IN for Indiana Elite Team Indiana 17u isn’t going to be real flashy on the court but he is productive. At 6’10”, he’s a big bodied forward that moves well for his size being able to impact the game inside the paint on both ends of the floor. Strong rebounder that outlets well. He runs the floor hard and fights for position. Has a nice soft touch over his left shoulder and has shown the ability to knock down a perimeter jumper off the catch.

Kostelac is a big, strong 5-man. He looks pretty comfortable facing up out on the perimeter and has made some open catch-and-shoot 3’s. Shot is smooth. The 6’9″ center has shown the ability to score with either hand some, but definitely is right hand/left shoulder dominant. You can throw it to him to score inside. Coaches across all levels in attendance at Run N Slam should make it a point to watch Indiana Elite Team Indiana 17u and evaluate Kostelac.

Admittedly, we haven’t had a chance to see this 6’6″ forward play very much since he came over to Culver Academy. However, based on some brief looks at the IU Team Camp and Charlie Hughes Showcase in June we know he is an intriguing prospect worth following. We look forward to seeing more of this skilled international prospect this winter.
