Scorza, a forward out of Proctor Academy in New Hampshire, makes his first appearance in the 2029 rankings at #35 and comes in as the #6 ranked power forward. The 6’8″ hybrid forward was a key role player last winter for Proctor and has the chance to be one of this season’s breakout performers. He’s got two-way versatility, the ability to make shots in bunches from behind the arc, and more off the bounce game than he gets credit for. He’s a fluid mover, plus athlete, and shows signs of playing through contact more and more often lately. Defensively, he can guard on the perimeter or in the paint and uses his length to create deflections at a high rate.

Scorza is ridiculously intriguing. For a 6-foot-6 freshman, he does an excellent job moving without the ball and has a shooting stroke that’s already pretty advanced. He’s able to handle the ball in small spaces and attack closeouts far better than most kids his size and age, and his coach tells me he’s one of the hardest workers on the team. Scorza is apparently playing AAU with House We Built this spring, and he is going to be a major name to know in New England for multiple years to come. The Canadian prospect will continue to get better and has a super bright future ahead.

Another prospect that will find his way into the rankings in the next update, Scorza has made an immediate impact in the NEPSAC, impressing with his shot making on the offensive end of the floor. He’s a big wing that’s already pushing 6’7″ and is a fluid athlete that can make plays above the rim in space. He’ll need to get stronger to reach his ceiling, but his skill level and feel for the game on the offensive end of the floor are impressive for a freshman. Defensively, he can guard forwards around the rim with his length and guards on the perimeter with his ability to cover space quickly laterally.

Scorza should be among the top young prospects in the region this winter, particularly when it comes to making shots and spacing the floor. The Proctor Academy forward comes to New England from Toronto and is a highly skilled prospect with a unique offensive game. A high motor forward, he plays with great energy and does a nice job of operating out of ball screens. He’s got good mechanics, quickly sets his feet when popping out of screens, and has soft touch on his jumper out behind the three. He can score it in bunches from behind the arc and does a nice job of letting the game come to him and turning down good scoring opportunities to seak out great ones.
