Whether you like it or not, transfers are a part high school basketball at this point. Some are obviously due to legitimate reasons. However, others are often motivated by athletic reasons. The IHSAA recently passed what, for all intents and purposes, is a one-time transfer rule which has made this off-season busier than ever. We here at Prep Hoops Indiana have no real dog in the fight in terms of the transfer epidemic and do not intend to play one side of the issues or the other. Our job is to simply evaluate the prospects. Where they go to school is of no real concern to us. Now that school is back in session and the dust has, mostly, settled let's take a class-by-class look at the impact transfers heading into the 2025-2026 season. We will now dive into the Class of 2027.

Lawrence Central High School was one of the biggest beneficiaries of incoming transfers this off-season. Bellamy comes in from North Central where he was a major varsity contributor for two seasons. He is a highly versatile wing with impressive positional strength. We saw Bellamy fit in seamlessly with the Bears throughout the month of June and are excited to see him flourish during his junior season this winter.

This 6'10" center really burst onto the scene this summer playing with Indiana Elite Central 16u and now will suit up for Covenant Christian for his junior season. Bowers spent his first two years playing for one of the top homeschool teams in the state. He averaged 12.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game last season as a sophomore. It will be good to see him play consistently against IHSAA competition as an upperclassman.

After two strong seasons as an underclassmen at Warren Central High School, this 6'2" two-way guard has made the move over to Lawrence Central High School for his junior season. Craig is a high percentage catch-and-shoot threat that doubles as one of the state's best perimeter defenders. He was an important piece off of the bench for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 16u on their way to winning the Peach Jam title.

The elder of the two Lampley brothers, Kenneth played his freshman season at Tindley before suiting up for a couple of games at Lawrence Central as a sophomore. Now, the super talented 6'6" wing has settled in at Pike High School for his junior season. He is coming off of a very good summer on the EYBL Circuit with Meanstreets where he shot the ball well from deep and showcased his positional rebounding ability.
