Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The SSSAS wing brings good length and a versatile offensive skill set, showing the ability to score at all three levels. Despite averaging 5 points per game on a veteran Saints team, he displayed flashes of his scoring ability and overall feel for the game. With more opportunity ahead, he is poised to take on a larger role and expand his production. Expect him to make a significant jump during the 2026–27 season.

Friend has earned his stripes as one of the better all-around sophomore guards in the Nova Hoops Classic. His smooth demeanor impresses with his ability score from the perimeter, but the 6-foot-4 prospect showed a diversity of skill that ought to draw attention from everyone. He attacked the basket, finished with touch, and displayed body control and length to finish at the rim. Friend also showed his range as a 3-point shooter as well.

Friend looks the part as a prospect who has plenty of potential left in the tank. For now, he’s a rangy 6-foot-3 guard/wing who plays with intriguing fluidity when it comes to attacking off 1-to-2 dribbles and pulling up in the mid-range. He’s also shown evidence as being a guy who can fill it up off the catch from three when his feet are set. His frame poses as one that will make him into a versatile defensive piece and as he puts on mass, the mismatch capability on the offensive side of things should blossom with more consistency.
