Teter was solid on the weekend, especially in their big game against Colorado Magic, as he embraced everything you want from a front-court anchor. He’s 6’7 and uses his size. He set solid screens, rolled with purpose, and gave his guards a reliable target around the basket. He also grabbed a ton of rebounds and found a guard to get the offense going. He didn’t have to get plays run for him to be effective and still made his mark. The offense was a bit up and down throughout the weekend, but he did the little things that stay. Like on defense. Defensively, he protected the paint with discipline, challenged shots without picking up cheap fouls, and consistently carved out space on the glass. He’s a player who certainly cares, playing high-level hoops during the club scene coming all the way from Cotopaxi. This was an eye-opening weekend for us on Teter, and we like what we saw.
Teter is a 6’7 sophomore who has the chance to turn heads and is starting to with his play. He’s a small school standout that we hope to get eyes on this summer and Fall. Right now, however, he’s playing well. He’s putting up 13.2 points and 12.7 rebounds a game. He also just had one of the top stat lines in the class when he had 25 points, 21 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals in a close win against Miami-Yoder. He’s a game changer on both ends of the floor and has his team in a great spot. He’s stepped it up in January, and he’s very intriguing.
There aren’t many athletic 6’7 athletes just walking around out here, so when you see one, you want them to stand out. Well, that’s exactly what Teter has been doing out at Cotopaxi. He has a high ceiling and has had some monster games already for the year. He’s put up 3 monster double-doubles already on the year, like when he finished with 22 points and 18 rebounds, or 10 points, 24 rebounds, and 6 assists in a win against Primero. He protects the paint and refuses to allow easy scoring opportunities at the basket. We want to see him be a bit more aggressive offensively as his team will need him to dominate down low. But he’s a player who should be getting a bit more attention, and we have eyes on him.
Teter is just a sophomore at Cotopaxi, but he’s already making varsity level impact in a big way. Nearly doubling his rebounding average from last season, he’s pulling down 17.8 boards per game with performances of 18, 19, 24, and 10 rebounds. After watching him this summer, it was clear a breakout was coming. His 6’7 frame makes him a natural force underneath, where he dominates the glass. Teter is especially valuable on the offensive end, extending possessions, creating second chances and going right back up through contact
Teter made an impression at the showcase combining size, skill and basketball intelligence to impact the game on both ends. Offensively he used his length and strength to finish effectively at the rim while consistently keeping his teammates involved, making smart reads and finding open players when defenses collapsed. His awareness and patience in the post allowed him to create high percentage scoring opportunities and maintain balance in transition. On defense Teter’s footwork and positioning were exceptional, enabling him to stay in front of his man, contest shots and control the paint against opponents. His combination of physical tools, offensive vision and defensive fundamentals made him a true all around presence, capable of influencing the game in multiple ways and keeping opponents on edge every possession
Teter may be relatively under the radar, but at 6’7” he has the size and physical tools to match up with anyone on the floor. In his freshman season, he averaged 9.1 points and 9.3 rebounds over 22 games, showing early signs of his impact inside. At the showcase we’ll be looking to see how he controls the post on both ends. From using his feet, balance, and body positioning to win boards, defend effectively, and back defenders down to score. A strong showing here could highlight his potential as a versatile interior presence capable of influencing the game on multiple levels
