Section 7 Qualifiers: Top West Coast Prospects Who Delivered PT 2

The Section 7 Qualifier delivered a weekend full of competitive games, rising talent, and hungry programs looking to earn their spot on the big stage. With players trying to make early statements this summer, the energy was high and the gym stayed active. Here's a look at some of the top performers who stood out and made a real impact throughout the event.    Obsessed with making the right play for his teammates. True pass-first point guard who consistently put guys in position to score easy buckets. Has a strong handle and showed he can create off the dribble when needed — whether it was getting into the paint, collapsing the defense, or pulling up for the mid range jumper. Controlled the tempo and stayed aggressive without forcing the issue.     Sprinted the floor hard in transition and made a living just by running the lane, catching, and finishing. Has good hands and finished well around the rim. Showed he can get downhill and score it in a variety of ways — knocking down threes, hitting mid-range jumpers, and taking what the defense gave him. Defensively, he guarded multiple positions and held his own both on the perimeter and inside. Rebounded the ball well and brought consistent effort on both ends.     Played really well attacking the gaps and getting to the rim, finishing through contact with a variety of acrobatic layups. Stayed active off the ball and was a constant scoring threat every time it touched his hands. Keeps his dribble low and tight, making it tough for defenders to disrupt his rhythm. Showed great feel for when to attack and how to create space.     Knockdown shooter from the corner — found open space in transition and consistently hit shots from three. Showed good awareness spotting up and made the most of his touches. Mixed it up by attacking off the dribble when defenders closed out too hard, keeping the defense honest and showing he's more than just a spot-up threat.     Hayes had the three-ball on lock all game — couldn't give him any space or it was going up and in. Has a quick, high release and stayed ready to shoot at all times. Played unselfish, made the extra pass when needed, and showed he can put it on the floor and attack closeouts. Moved well without the ball and consistently found open pockets in the defense. Tough cover all night.
