198 teams. 342 games. Four venues. Three days, from Noon on Friday until about 6:00 p.m. on Sunday filled with Indiana High School Basketball. The annual IBCA/IHSAA Charlie Hughes Showcase is the single best evaluation and recruiting event of the calendar year. As always, Prep Hoops Indiana will have boots on the ground coverage from the opening tip-off until the final buzzer of this great event. With all three days now in the books let's highlight some of the Class of 2029 prospects that emerged at the varsity level during the Charlie Hughes Showcase.

The size and length of his incoming freshman at Frankton High School catches your attention right away. Brobston, the son of Frankton's head coach, is a legit 6'7" with long arms and fluid athleticism out on the perimeter. He handles the ball like a guard, is capable as a catch-and-shoot threat, and obviously has the size to be a matchup problem when he gets around the basket. There is a ton of upside to his game and it will be fun to watch him make an instant impact as a freshman.

One of two Gary West Side incoming freshmen that really stood out at the Charlie Hughes Showcase, Clay Jr. is a dynamic playmaker with good size for his age in the backcourt. He was a consistent contributor throughout the weekend as he displayed the ability to get into the paint and attract the attention of multiple defenders on his drives. Look for Clay Jr., along with the interior presence of the 6'7" Gates, to be a great one-two punch for years to come at Gary West Side.

It didn't take long when watching Gary West Side play to notice this 6'7" freshman. He first caught our attention with a tough catch and finish on a roll to the rim. Then, when checking the roster and noticing that he was a Class of 2029 prospect, the excitement grew quickly. Gates has a super high upside as he continues to get stronger, and likely grow more, over the next few years. He will make an instant impact right away for the Cougars.

We first saw Hampton at IU Team Camp the weekend before the Charlie Hughes Showcase and then got to see him again, relatively briefly, over the course of this weekend. Hampton immediately checks a lot of boxes as a 6'6" forward with impressive length and some natural athleticism. He moves around very well for someone his size at his age. There is no doubt that he is one of the best Class of 2029 prospects in the greater Evansville area and likely throughout the state as well.

Simply by nature of Fishers being at most of the big time events in June we have had the opportunity to see Hopkins play a handful of times this month now. The 6'7" incoming freshman forward continues to impress us with his athleticism and poise for his age in the Tigers' front court. Simply being able to carve out a role as a freshman at Fishers means you are one of the best in your class. However, Hopkins flashes plenty of skills that drive that home even further. It will be fun to watch his progression over the years to come.

Stoudemire comes in as one of the most highly-touted Class of 2029 prospects in the state of Indiana. His name has been floated around, especially in southern Indiana, for a few years now. It was good to finally get eyes on him in a varsity uniform at the Charlie Hughes Showcase and it appears that he will be a starter for what could be a very good New Albany team. Stoudemire is not built like a freshman at all. His best traits right now are probably his strength, physicality, and athleticism. He rebounds the ball very well from the perimeter and is a high percentage finisher around the rim.

Tonagel poured in 30 points, including the game-winner, in Oak Hill's Saturday evening win over Park Tudor. That performance alone was enough to solidify him as one of the top incoming freshmen at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. The 6'0" guard is a big time shooting threat, can create his own shot off of the dribble, and has some high-level all-around playmaking ability. Joining his older brother, Jace, in the backcourt will give Oak Hill plenty of firepower in Class 3A this season.

Anyone who follows Indiana High School Basketball closely knows that there is never a shortage of Yoder's when it comes to basketball at Westview High School. This 5'5" point guard is the son of a former Division I player who came through the system at Westview and, as he gets bigger, looks like he has plenty of talent to build off of. Yoder had no problem attacking the basket, finishing against size, and making plays for his teammates against Bishop Luers on Friday night. Despite his small stature he appears to be more than ready to make an impact at the varsity level as a freshman.
