Maybe the hottest prospect in Ohio regardless of class, Tyson has picked up offers from all three in-state high major programs in the past month as Cincinnati, Ohio State and Xavier have all offered the explosive 2027 point guard. Tyson really shines on the defensive end of the court where his wingspan and large hands allow him to jump passing lanes, pressure ball handlers and overall just cause a lot of havoc. In transition Tyson can play above the rim and makes the simple pass when it is available for one of his teammates. It's early in the month of June but with Tyson continuing his massive upward trajectory and a ton of depth on Lakota West, they look like one of the best teams in Ohio regardless of Division.

Centerville has a ton of 2027 talent and Maxwell seems poised to have a breakout junior season for the Elks. I was impressed by his motor on the offensive glass and his 3-point shooting ability. The lefty wing has solid positional size and even took a charge defensively as well. Need to see him again during the high school season but Maxwell checked a lot of boxes that I look for in wings on Thursday.

North Canton Hoover is running mid-season level offense in June as their ball movement and spacing is next level. The engine to their offense is Hershberger as he dynamic with the ball in his hands and balances him creating offense for himself and also moving the ball and letting the natural flow generate open looks. Where Hershberger can really take control is in the open court where he relentless slashing ability and strong finishing can create easy baskets. While I like seeing Hershberger in attack mode off the dribble, he also scored off cuts and curling off screens as well, showing his ability to score on or off the ball. One of the top players in the Federal League, North Canton Hoover will be a team to watch this winter.

Another group loaded with 2027 talent, Big Walnut has a few multi-sport athletes that shine in the fall and winter as Bowers, Brody Hatfield and Eli Stumpf all play multiple sports together as a dynamic trio. Bowers was getting active on Thursday as his size and physicality was too much to handle in the paint. Bowers had a handful of and-1 finishes where even a foul wasn't enough to stop him from scoring in the paint. Bowers also did his work early by getting good position on the block to either catch and score or put himself in position for the offensive rebound.

Emmanuel Christian has had their talent spread across northwest Ohio after a coaching change and Hester seems to have found a nice fit with Toledo St Francis. Hester has excellent size and length to block shots and grab rebounds over smaller players in the paint. Developing a post game as well with his soft touch, Hester had a couple hook shots bounced around the rim before falling. Hester also flashed some jump-shooting ability with a couple mid-range looks and a 3-pointer in the two games I watched. One of the more interesting 2027 bigs from northwest Ohio, Hester is an obvious breakout candidate in the winter.

Newark looked like they were in mid-season form at Ohio State team camp as they obliterated most of the teams that stood in their way over the course of two days. Brooks is a two-way guard who can make a shot, attack a closeout and defend at a high level. You know when watching Newark basketball that you'll see toughness and intensity no matter when and where the game is being played and that's exactly what they did in the victory I saw. One of the top groups in central Ohio, Newark will be a tough out as usual this winter.
