Top Tier

Braylon Williams Braylon Williams 6'0" | PG Bartlett | 2028 State TN started for Bartlett’s Panthers as a freshman, a team that was ranked #1 in the state for portions of the season. More revealing is that he started as a point guard! Braylon is a strong shooter and a deft ball-handler. His poise is reminiscent of Kennedy Chandler at the same age. Their games are not identical, but the confidence and bravery with the basketball is noteworthy.

Taheim Elohem Taheim Elohem 6'1" | PG Baylor School | 2028 State TN and Carson Crump Carson Crump 5'11" | PG St. George's | 2028 State TN are two ’28 dudes that carried enormous workloads for their Memphis-area teams last winter. Both impressed with their competence and skill. Crump was an elite scorer and Elohem provided offense and defense from the point guard position, starting as a freshman.

Mid-December Carson Crump Carson Crump 5'11" | PG St. George's | 2028 State TN dropped 30 points on Fairley High and earned BCAT D-II Player of the Week. Consider…that is a guy weeks into his high school career earning an honor ostensibly against seniors statewide.

Miles Alexander Miles Alexander 6'0" | PG Cannon County | 2028 State TN (Cannon County) displayed otherworldly guile and skills back in the fall at the Prep Hoops Expo. His game is way ahead of the pack in 2028. Keep an eye on his going forward.

Handles

Miles Alexander Miles Alexander 6'0" | PG Cannon County | 2028 State TN immediately springs to mind when mentioning handles. The young guard can get to any point on the floor against younger players. His Cannon County Lions face much different competition than say Braylon Williams Braylon Williams 6'0" | PG Bartlett | 2028 State TN in 4A or Destin Kellogg Destin Kellogg 6'1" | PG Brentwood Academy | 2028 State TN at Brentwood Academy. Still, Miles is clearly an elite dribbler already. Often he baits defenders with fakes or lulls them to sleep with crafty moves.

Knoxville Catholic guard Braylen Gibbs Braylen Gibbs 6'1" | PG Knoxville Catholic (football) | 2028 State TN is an exciting young player that apparently excels also at football. The lefty gets to the danger spots easier than most 2028’s.

Bo Maxwell Bo Maxwell 5'8" | PG Cookeville | 2028 State TN proved advanced in his freshman year with a surprisingly solid Cookeville team. Maxwell played with an uncommon maturity and poise. Great leader.

Hard-Chargers

Cash Williams Cash Williams 5'11" | PG Fayette-Ware | 2028 State TN was the rare freshman playing minutes at the TSSAA State Tournament. A guard with Fayette-Ware, Cash found some playing time and actually helped his Wildcats. Enormous stage for a young player. Cash can play with speed or patience.

Cameron Jackson Cameron Jackson 5'11" | PG/CG Jackson Christian School | 2028 State TN (Clarksville Academy) found extra playing time while Trae Rideau dealt with a preseason injury last fall. Cameron gets to the basket in a hurry and plays with a welcome toughness.

Chattanooga Elite AAU Director Antione Montgomery raves about Tony Burton Jr. Tony Burton Jr. 5'11" | PG McCallie | 2028 State TN Like a few players on this list Burton Jr. also plays football and that sport tends to infuse basketball players with an willingness even an eagerness to accept contact. Burton Jr. is a bouncy guard.
