Riopel gives Pueblo West exactly what they needed last year so those minutes could be valuable if he continues to progress before the season gets here. From what we saw this summer at the showcase with his size, strength, and inside presence, that could help Pueblo West get some wins. With his athleticism and length, he’s capable of finishing through contact, rebounding in traffic, and protecting the rim. He showed all of that this summer, using his motor to impact both ends. I expect Riopel to log varsity minutes early and provide interior toughness as a reliable frontcourt piece with plenty of upside.

makes sure that his teammates are in the right position on both ends of the ball. Where Riopel makes his mark is down on the blocks, contesting close-range shots and moving his feet quickly. The 6’3 big man brings hustle and grit to any roster he’s on. Blocks and rebounds come easy to Riopel who is always in the right spot at the right time.

Riopel used his 6’3 frame to bring toughness inside. He rebounded aggressively, finished through contact, and ran the floor for transition buckets. Defensively, he competed with effort, disrupted plays, and made the extra pass out of dump-offs. His hustle and motor created opportunities on both ends and this was really on display when we started playing 5 on 5. He’s a player to watch that I feel we get to see carve out some varsity minutes this upcoming season. He’s on the radar.

Riopel was truly impactful, showing why he’s such a valuable all around player for his team. He consistently set hard, effective screens that created open looks and helped maintain offensive flow. His excellent court vision allowed him to make smart decisions and find teammates in optimal scoring positions. On the glass, Riopel was relentless—securing rebounds on both ends and crashing the offensive boards to generate second chance opportunities. Down low, his smooth post moves and polished footwork made him a reliable scoring threat in the paint. Riopel’s leadership was evident as he kept his teammates engaged and focused throughout the game. In transition, he ran the floor with purpose and speed, finishing strong and turning defensive stops into easy points. His combination of skill, effort, and leadership made him a true catalyst on both ends of the court
