TOC All-Tournament Team Analysis (Blue Bracket)
Jaxon Etter (Etowah)-
Every time Etter steps on the court he just produces, and his time at the TOC was no different. Whenever Etowah needed a big play, he rose to the occasion. He brings a no nonsense approach to each game and hurts opponents in a variety of ways. After finishing with 27 points and 11 rebounds in a statement win over SWD, he did not stop in the championship against Lithonia. Etter provided valuable offense in the final, scoring 19 of his team’s 37 points with 4 made 3’s. The noise he made at Wheeler should attract college coaches throughout the Southeast.
Julian Baldwin (Etowah)-
Etter was not the only Etowah player that performer well at Wheeler. Baldwin made solid contributions throughout the week and was vital to the Eagles’ championship run. He started with a 21 point, 7 rebound outing against Milton and seemed to have an impact in every game. He has a soft touch around the basket and possesses nice length and mobility that allows him to make plays on defense frequently. Baldwin will be a good late pickup for some program.
Christian Jackson (Greenforest)-
Greenforest has played in some big events so far this season and Jackson has come through for the Eagles each time. After taking a tough loss to Lithonia, the Eagles rallied behind Jackson on their way to an impressive win over Southwest Dekalb. Jackson put up 24 points and 11 rebounds in that contest and finished averaging 14 PPG and 8 RPG for the tournament. He has flown under the radar for a while but has definitely made a name for himself this winter.
James Glisson (Southwest Dekalb)-
Glisson has continued to solidify himself as a valuable prospect in Georgia’s 2019 class. He has a unique combination of skills that makes him a tough matchup for any opponent. Glisson is strong and athletic inside, abusing smaller defenders in the paint with ease. He is also an effective shooter from 15 feet but his range extends to the 3 point line. Glisson carries a heavy rebounding load and blocks shots often for SWD as well. His versatility can be seen in his 12.3 PPG, 8 RPG, and 2 BPG overall numbers for the tourney.
Eric Gaines (Lithonia)-
Gaines was the youngest player to make the all-tournament team at the TOC, catching everyone’s attention in Lipscomb Gymnasium. He dished out 9 assists in Lithonia’s first game of the tournament and then saw his scoring numbers increase each game after that. Gaines is an explosive, fluid athlete who is dynamic with the ball in his hands. He is smooth when getting to the basket and also displayed a reliable jumper off the dribble. He averaged 9.5 PPG and 4.5 PPG for the tournament while making pesky defensive plays as well.
Ziven Alexander (Lithonia)-
Alexander is a productive senior for Lithonia and started the tournament on a tear against North Atlanta. Against Warriors, he had 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals while shooting 75% from the field. He also had a performance of 19 points and 6 rebounds against Greenforest and was consistent for the Bulldogs throughout the week. Alexander can man either forward spot with his strong 6’5” frame and plays with a great motor. He will need to continue to set the tone for the team as they face some tough region opponents over the next few weeks.
