Brimmer & May School vs Wilbraham & Monson Academy Stars

I attended the Final Game at Thompson Gym on Saturday 3/1/25 as they look to rebuild the court to a more modern accomadation. Brimmer was in the game for most of the contest but Wilbraham shut the door down the stretch on Brimmer's playoff aspirations. The gym is mystique and has a cool old school pitched roof feel. I enjoyed watching games here as I watched more prep games over the last few years. Wilbraham won 80-65 behind Ryan Kranz's ubelieveable shooting performance going 8/9 from deep.    When he wants to lock down on defense has the capability to shut anyone off from scoring. Anticipates the ball well to make steals. This player is explosive when rising up to shoot giving him access to shoot over defenders. He continues to impress me with his paint touches and finishing around the paint whether pull up jumper or a floater He continues to knock down shots from deep on a consistent basis. This player is pretty agile, works hard with his footwork and moves in the paint drawing fouls. After the catch he can play with his back to the basket but can also make a good move after squaring his shoulders to the hoop. He understands when to make the extra pass and has above average vision for a big to make accurate passes. He helps to create driving lanes playing at the nail or in floppy action. I project him to play for a low to mid-major D3 team in college.     I love his intensity diving for loose balls on the floor. Closes out on shooters well with a high hand. Good hands while catching and has a quick release shooting. Has the ability to knock down shots even off inaccurate passes not in the box. Does a really good job rebounding for a guard reading the trajectory of the ball and spin off the shooters hand. Loved his use of bounce passing to avoid turnovers or deflections. He finds a hole in defenses like a running back in football squeezing through tight spaces finishing in congested areas. He is balanced while dribbling but is constantly moving without the ball to create fluidity in the offense for drivers. On the defensive side of the ball reads the offensive player eyes to intercept passes and anticipate their counteractive moves. He is quick with his release and snapping his hips around. He works to get open by running the baseline or backdoor cuts. Takes up a lot of space with his wingspan on the defensive side guarding smaller players or causing chaos in a zone. This player could definitely contribute in a D1 low level to mid-major team. Handles the ball well and changes directions optimally drawing fouls. When scoring he squares his shoulders when needed but has game using a spin move at the nail to make jumper and little fadeaway from the elbow. Defensively has to guard bigger opponents without issue moving laterally smoothly quickly and walls up immensely. Spatially aware calling out to teammates about open holes/lanes and shooters before they even get the ball. He can instantly heat up knocking down 4 in a row from deep with a great rhythm. Has a good understanding to change his tempo while dribbling. Defensively rebounds very well for a guard getting in good positions, closes out without fouling.
