on the defensive end, Ajakaiye held his cool and was able to create some solid offense for Wilbraham & Monson throughout the game. He had a couple really nice lefty finishes on strong drives to the hoop and made some heady dump-down passes. He did make a three late in the game, but his shot is a bit wonky and needs to get more consistent. Defensively, I was really impressed with his activity at the top of the zone; he probably had 3 or 4 steals as a result of his quickness and hands.

Very quick, explosive and springy athlete who can get by any defender off the bounce. Loved his use of bounce passing to avoid turnovers or deflections. He finds a hole in defenses like a running back in football squeezing through tight spaces finishing in congested areas. He is balanced while dribbling but is constantly moving without the ball to create fluidity in the offense for drivers. On the defensive side of the ball reads the offensive player eyes to intercept passes and anticipate their counteractive moves. A prospect who could play for a mid-major D3 team to help their success.

Ajakaiye is a super quick PG who runs the show for Wilbraham and Monson. The 6-foot-1 point guard has a good handle and feel and is a very talented finisher at the rim with both hands. Defensively, he locks up when he’s paying attention and is very good with his hands in the passing lanes. I don’t see offers on Ajakaiye’s twitter, but he’ll most certainly play college ball somewhere. His size could be the reason why he isn’t picking up D1 or D2 offers, though he could probably compete with a lot of those guys. It’s also difficult to see him defend when W&M is in a 3-2 zone for the whole game, so coaches could be hesitant about that.

Ajakaiye is lightning quick and has the ball on a string, but he struggled at times with the length of Bellot defensively (who wouldn’t?). I was very impressed with his cutting and movement off the ball – he really understands open lanes and timing and was able to bend the defense with his relocation time and time again. He also showed off some really impressive finishing moves in transition. His height (or lack thereof) will always be a limiting factor, but Ajakaiye has all the skills you would want in a PG.
