Osa Idada
About Osa
Expert Analysis

This player is absurdly strong and has athleticism. This player is pretty agile, works hard with his footwork and moves in the paint drawing fouls. After the catch he can play with his back to the basket but can also make a good move after squaring his shoulders to the hoop. He understands when to make the extra pass and has above average vision for a big to make accurate passes. He helps to create driving lanes playing at the nail or in floppy action. I project him to play for a low to mid-major D3 team in college.

Idada is a big, big boy. And for 6-foot-6 and the physical build that he has, it’s shocking how high he gets off the floor. His conditioning can be rough sometimes, but the way he elevates at the hoop is simply uncanny for his size and strength. He also has decent touch around the rim and isn’t afraid to hit anyone. I was super impressed, too, with his vision in the middle of the zone. He made a lot of nice passes out to shooters. I need to know what Idada would look like as a defensive end – it’s truly scary – but he can certainly play college hoops too.

Idada is a physical specimen, and if he doesn’t make it in basketball I have to imagine there’ll be a multitude of football coaches looking to recruit him. For his size – 6-foot-6, 225 pounds – Idada is incredibly mobile and light on his feet. He bodies smaller (or larger, although there aren’t many) defenders and can even hit an occasional three.

Osa was named to the SENE all conference team in his Freshman season on varsity. He likes to play bully ball. He is a big strong built, and a very physical player that can move people around. He is a versatile player, and if he continues to work on other facets of his game, his potential is high. He has an improving shot, and improving that will help him stretch the floor. Osa has a high upside to his game
