<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the state tournaments looming and teams securing their spots for a chance to win a state title, I took a look into each district within each class to see who's headed to the state tournaments.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the first round of this district tournament, all games are loser-out games with the top 4 seeds getting byes. 8th seed Ferndale would beat 9th seed Meadowdale, 59-44 with [player_tooltip player_id='2021622' first='Mantaj' last='Singh'] and Hunter Willis stepping up for the Golden Eagles. Meadowdale would see their season end. 10th seed Snohomish took home the upset against 7th seed Mountlake Terrace, winning 49-43. Snohomish would advance. 6th seed Sedro-Woolley won a close one against 11 seed Everett, 64-60. The Cubs would advance behind [player_tooltip player_id='2457283' first='Ethan' last='DeJong']'s big performance and Everett's season came to an end. 5th seed Marysville-Getchell would defeat 12th seed Mount Vernon, 67-54 behind Bubba Palacol's big game. They would advance as the Bulldogs were eliminated.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Now, the bracket will be double elimination. Top seed Edmonds Woodway defeated 8th seed Ferndale, 62-42 behind [player_tooltip player_id='1354101' first='Cam' last='Hiatt']'s 19 points. Ferndale would advance to the loser out section of the bracket. 2nd seed Shorecrest would beat 10th seed Snohomish, 52-43. [player_tooltip player_id='2204420' first='Porter' last='Swanson'] stepped up for Shorecrest, being a pure PG for the team. Snohomish would advance to the loser out section of the bracket. 3 seed Monroe defeated 6th seed Sedro Woolley, 64-56. Sedro Woolley would advance to the loser out section of the bracket. 4th seed Shorewood defeated 5th seed Marysville-Getchell, 68-62. Getchell would advance to the loser out section of the bracket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the semi-final part of the 3A District 1 tournament, 1 seed Edmonds Woodway took on 4th seed Shorewood. Edmonds-Woodway took home the win, 67-37.&nbsp;&nbsp;Shorewood would advance to the loser out section of the bracket. 2nd seed Shorecrest took on 3rd seed Monroe. Monroe would win, 48-44. Shorecrest would advance to the loser out section of the bracket.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the loser-out section of the bracket, 5th seed Marysville-Getchell took on 8th seed Ferndale. Getchell would win, 56-38. Bubba Palacol would help lead them to the win. Ferndale would see their season end. 6th seed Sedro-Woolley took on 10th seed Snohomish with Sedro Woolley winning 56-50 to advance. Snohomish would have their season end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the 3A District 1 championship game, 1 seed Edmonds-Woodway took on Monroe. Both teams would be advancing to state regardless of the outcome but Monroe took home the district championship by a score of 61-56 and upset Edmonds-Woodway, despite 30+ points from [player_tooltip player_id='1354101' first='Cam' last='Hiatt'].&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the loser-out side of the bracket, 2 seed Shorecrest took on 5th seed Marysville-Getchell for a chance to advance to the state tournament and the loser being eliminated. Shorecrest would win a close one, 46-44 to would advance to the 3A state tournament. For the other loser-out game, 4 Shorewood took on 6th seed Sedro Woolley.  Shorewood would win the game, 45-43 and advance to the 3A state tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em><strong>Teams advancing to state:</strong></em> Monroe, Edmonds-Woodway, Shorewood, Shorecrest</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
