Hudson was MVP of the Doc Edwards and showed why in the championship game. Ahmad scored everything above the rim or right at the rim with little to no resistance from the Raider defense. His defense was what hampered the Raider inside attack as he blocked several shots en route to his championship performance. He is one of the top players in the 2027 class for a reason and showed it Saturday night.

The LSU signee at defensive back showed patrons at Airline High why he was an all state guard last season. Anding had it going offensively and defensively for the Bearcats. His ability to shoot from three was displayed. However, it was Anding's ability to use shot fakes and upper body strength to make layups for his team. On defense, he stopped several drive attempts and hounded Raider shooters. His defense on the perimeter was another key reason for the Bearcats victory.

The Bearcat sophomore helped his team win the Doc Edwards title with the way he began the game. An early layup and a three helped Ruston to an 11-0 lead they never relinquished. Malcolm is the perfect compliment offensively to [player_tooltip player_id='2132725' first='Ahmad' last='Hudson']. He plays off a post player well and moves to spots where he can be successful. Malcolm is also good at weakside rebounding and helps to secure defensive possessions for Ruston. Handling point guard duties as well, Malcolm is an all-around player. Huntington found that out as well Saturday night.

Parker had a rough championship game on Saturday. He was held scoreless in the first half due to the Bearcat defense. Parker woke up and showed his skills in the second half. His ability to handle helped him get his shot off as he banked in a three. He showed an ability to get to his spots and made an effort to help Huntington comeback. Being a top player will promote the opposition's best effort as it did on Saturday. Parker has the perimeter game that will allow him to bounce back.

Dixon tried to help Huntington on both ends of the floor during the Doc Edwards final. His perimeter shooting from three helped stretch the floor. His shooting also helped remove Hudson from the paint and caused two fouls on the big man. Dixon did foul out as he tried to defend the rim against Hudson and the drives by the Bearcat guards. Dixon's athleticism is an asset and while it did not help Huntington win the tournament title on Saturday. He will be a key in their hopes for the rest of the season.

Turner had a chance to show his offensive ability in the second half of the Doc Edwards championship loss. His ability to attack and finish at the rim was on full display. Turner finished despite being challenged by Hudson at the rim. He also showed the ability to shoot over shot blocking height. Turner also showed an ability to spot up from three as well. His second half may spark him being another scorer in the Raider attack going forward the rest of the season.

These six players will be ones to watch as the rest of the season goes. They will be keys to the success of their respective teams. In the Bearcats case, they are undefeated since the return of Anding and Hudson. Both teams look forward to continuing their success as a new week begins surrounding the New Year's holiday.
