With season starting up, I've had the opportunity to do a good amount of in game player evaluations. I'm going to give you some of the evals from 2 games - Detroit Country Day at Hartland and Detroit Central at Adrian.

Hartland pulled out an impressive 55-46 win against DCD, despite missing star guard [player_tooltip player_id='1933877' first='Parker' last='Sundman']. Adrian was impressive in their 67-48 victory against an upstart Detroit Central squad.

Morrish was really solid against DCD. He's an even better ball handler in person than he is on film. Morrish is a long lead guard that uses his length to fend off defenders. He created space for a mid range jumper with the use of a between the legs combo move. Morrish also took a physical righty drive to the rim that drew a foul. His passing was what really stood out to me though. Morrish hit targets, like a bounce pass to a cutting big, a transition pass across the lane and a pass out of the paint on a drive.

It's easy to see what all this excitement is about with this young star. Cast just seemed to always be a threat for a bucket. He had range well behind the arc and looked like he could shot through a defender. Cast's pull up was smooth and quick, which forced the defense to be engaged as soon as he crossed half court. He wasn't just a shooter though, but definitely a true lead guard. Cast showed the ability to touch paint, draw the defense and dump it off to a teammate in a scoring position.

The Milwaukee commit showed out in a hard fought win against Detroit Central. He led all scorers with an eye-popping 33 points. He has a strong frame and it helped him earn a good number of trips to the free throw line, especially in the second half. Elam started out his scoring by showing elite athleticism with a dunk of a nice wing cut to the rim. He's always been beyond dangerous shooting from the corners and he was again in this game, both off the bounce and the catch.

Acuff went to work in the game against Adrian. He started out on an absolute heater, hitting 4 relatively quick triples. He was so hot from behind the arc that he had to fans himself off real quick. He had 21 total points in the game, but he's another player that can't be labeled as just a shooter. Acuff had a dunk finish off a turnover and a tough righty take for 2. He showed a nice basketball IQ with a finish under the rim after utilizing a jump stop.

I absolutely loved what I saw out of Broker. When you walk in the gym, he looks like a high school version of Bryant Reeves. Then the game starts. Broker is a true post, but he can stretch the floor with his jumper. He hit a pretty turn around free throw line jumper and even stretched it out beyond the 3 point line. Broker was really a threat from everywhere. While he was really good working off the high post, he also scored near the rim with an off balance flip in and a tough back to the basket finish over his left shoulder.

With season starting up, I've had the opportunity to do a good amount of in game player evaluations. I'm going to give you some of the evals from 2 games - Detroit Country Day at Hartland and Detroit Central at Adrian.
