South Dakota AA Preview: Emerging 2027’s

Prep Hoops Dakotas is going to do something a little different. We'll preview the remaining teams based off of their up-and-coming and emerging young talent in the 2027 class in Class AA. We have 14 names.    Sprecher is up to 6'5” and hopefully he keeps growing. He's a varsity contributor already going into his Sophomore season. Has size and athleticism to build skill around.     Porisch is a varsity veteran already as a Sophomore. But he can take a leap still as a wing threat. If he can prove to have guard skills and handles, I think that really helps his recruitment and projecting him to a wing. He'll be with [program_tooltip program_id='2250291' first='Hoop' last='City South Dakota'] and looking to prove that on the Prep Hoops Circuit as well.     Painter is a really big Sophomore guard that can get moving downhill, and is relentless and aggressive doing so. He can make a series of impact plays and be a major difference-maker in a lot of scenarios.     We're way too low on Vavruska as his ranking stands. But that will change in the next update, and I think he's a top 15-20 prospect in the 2027 class.     Chase has been mentioned a couple times recently, and he's deserving of another mention. He's a transfer to Huron. He'll go from Class B competition to AA, and it's intriguing thinking about how he handles the change in competition.     By what I've seen, Schafer is a legitimate, young quarterback in the state. He can also hoop and he'll also be hooping with [program_tooltip program_id='2250291' first='Hoop' last='City South Dakota'] in the offseason.     Grif will be going from Class A competition to legit competition consistently from game-to-game in AA ball. I think he handles the transition just fine, and is physical and athletic to be a legit rebounder and finisher. He can shoot the three as well.     Kai has the play style and killer instinct in him to be a major player. He attacks and he makes you guard him. A threat going to the rack and at the three-point line. Attacks the defender in a relentless manner.     Nuttbrock has continuously been mentioned as a serious prospect and breakout guy. So here's another one. Prospect to watch and top 5 prospect in the 2027 class — banking on his upside.     Unzen is a football stud as well as an explosive young guard in the state. His impact is higher than his ranking reflects, with his only recruitment question being his size. He can jump out of the gym, and I'm starting to notice his defensive impact.     Skogsberg is also new to Class AA, but he's already seen that type of competition on the AAU circuit. He's ready and an experienced baller, that can be very dangerous as a range shooter, pull-up game, traffic finishing, and playmaking passing.     Nour showed me some stuff at the recent Warwick Workouts College Prospect Camp. He's more advanced with the ball than I had thought, or he has improved in that area. Harrisburg is stacked at the guard spot, but I do think Nour is a minor stock-riser.     Biteler is most likely the best prospect I have yet to mention. He's on the 2027 watchlist, but I think he could currently be a top 35-40 prospect in the class.     Drotzmann was recently added to the database and I think he can be a top 40 prospect in the 2027 class. He was a varsity player last season. He doesn't have elite size or athleticism, but he uses his body and frame well. He's great off of two feet in the lane and will attack defenders and their body. Highly efficient finisher at the rim. Great mover on the court.
