came off the bench to score 18 points. Jones is one of the better class of 2026 prospects in the state due to his athleticism and ability to consistently finish at the basket. Jones made big play after big play in the overtimes, but struggled a bit from the free throw line, making just seven of 18 attempts. Mulberry, a forward transfer from Menomonee Falls, added 18 points and scored most of those points late in the game and in the overtime sessions. Expected to contend for the Greater Metro Conference title, Germantown also got strong showings from

DIVISION 2 … WAUSAU EAST
It was a big weekend for Wausau area teams at Wausau East, Wausau West, Mosinee and D.C. Everest each went 2-0 in Thanksgiving events. Wausau East’s experienced and talented Lumberjacks went up to Eau Claire and played two games in the Eau Claire North Classic, beating the host school 84-60 on Friday and then turning back Superior 59-47 on Saturday. and point guard Jaydan Garrett. Napgezek, who has committed to NCAA Division 2 University of Mary, had 19 points and 12 rebounds versus Eau Claire North and 25 against Superior. Cayley, a football/basketball standout, posted double/doubles in each game, with 13 points and 20 rebounds against Eau Claire North and 11 points and 12 boards against Superior. Garrett, at Northland College recruit and son of East’s head coach, had 18 points against Eau Claire North and 14 in the outing against Superior. East is favored to win its two outings this week, a home game Tuesday against New London and a road game Saturday against Green Bay East.
DIVISION 3 … RACINE ST. CATHERINE’S
Four days after winning the WIAA Division 4 state football championship, St. Catherine’s played Burlington in a non-league game and posted a 68-54 victory. Many coaches/programs would have postponed that contest or pushed it out to a date in the future, citing a lack of preparation time due to so many athletes playing football during the first full week of practice. Not St. Catherine’s. Coach Ryan Thompson went ahead and played that game with very limited practice time, and his team still managed to win. A few days later, St. Catherine’s played Racine Park in front of a full house in the Racine Case Thanksgiving Classic. The Angels went into overtime against one of the Southeast Conference’s best teams, but still managed to get a victory, dominating the extra session to register a 79-70 triumph. The star of both games was junior point guard

. After scoring four touchdowns in the Angels’ football triumph over St. Croix Central, the 6-foot-0 Hamilton went off for 39 points in the win over Burlington and then added 38 against Racine Park. The shifty, ultra quick and supremely confident left handed guard swished threes, got to the basket and got to the foul line in both contests. He got plenty of help from emerging senior wing Travenn Webster, who had 15 points off the bench against Park, and skilled freshman

DIVISION 4 … MARSHALL
Traveling to Fall River to open its season in a non-league game against the Pirates, Marshall made clutch hoops in the second half to emerge with a hard-earned 77-69 triumph in TJ Zweifel’s debut as the Cardinals coach. Marshall, an expected title contender in the Capitol South Conference, got a game-high 30 points from senior lead guard

added 12. Marshall will venture into the Capitol North Conference for a couple of difficult non-league outings this week, playing at Lodi Tuesday before hosting Lakeside Lutheran on Friday.
DIVISION 5 … COLUMBUS CATHOLIC
Coming off a 29-2 season that included the WIAA Division 5 state championship, Columbus Catholic had to replace all five of its starters and a couple of key reserves lost last spring to graduation. Teams licking their chops for a chance to get back at coach Joe Konieczny’s squad might want to rethink that notion. Despite the loss of nine seniors, the Dons remain formidable. Good programs are able to overcome big losses, and Columbus Catholic most definitely is a good program. The Dons opened the season with a win at Rib Lake before beating both Assumption and Port Edwards over the weekend to win the Cranberry Classic at Assumption. Konieczny’s son, sophomore guard

and Cole Wallace. The unsung hero of the Dons might be senior Sam Dums, a player who defends with intensity and seems to come up with big rebounds and baskets. The Dons host former Central Wisconsin Catholic Conference foe McDonell Central Catholic on Thursday before entertaining Auburndale next Monday.
