It would be hard to top Lamont's 39 point season debut, but he did just that on Saturday, putting up 40 in an overtime win over Racine Park. Lamont didn't get off to the best start shooting the ball, but still worked to get some high percentage looks at the rim, and was constantly pressuring the ball on defense to come up with a few steals. He just has a motor that never stops, and elite lateral quickness to make plays on both ends. When the jumper started falling in the second half, Lamont simply took the game over. He drained a handful of late threes to force overtime and eventually lead his team to the win. Someone who can play 36 minutes while constantly going full speed on both ends.

Agape may not always have to put up big scoring numbers to lead MAS to wins as there's plenty of talent around him, but when his number is called he's more than capable of taking over a game. Capable of handling the ball for a team or playing out on the wing, Agape impressed as a catch and shoot threat out on the perimeter in the win over Verona. He knocked down jumper after jumper while rarely having to put the ball on the floor, instead using his off ball movement to find pockets of space to score. Really efficient player on a loaded MAS team.

With teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1504816' first='Jamison' last='Beesley'] missing time with an injury, defenses have been focusing in on trying to stop Caden. They haven't had much success though, as he scored 39 in his season opener, followed up by 26 in a win over Kenosha St. Joseph on Saturday. He's a high level shooter who's always been capable of playing off the ball, but is taking on a lot more shot creating responsibilities now. Caden did a great job of navigating screens to get downhill, and also using shot-fakes to beat his initial defender and get into space. One of the top prospects in the Southern Lakes Conference.

Expectations were high for Racine Lutheran heading into this season, but I don't think many expected them to defeat Racine Case by nearly 50 points in their season opener. The 2026 guard led a balanced attack for Lutheran with 16 points, hitting some tough turnaround jumpers, getting out for a transition dunk, and knocking down a corner three off the catch. Sam has developed into a three level scoring threat with the length and bounce to get his shots off over length.

Travenn played a key role in the win for St. Cats. At 6'2 he has some length and athleticism with the ability to play out on the wing, or scrap with forwards as an undersized big. I really liked his effort crashing the glass and powering his way up for a few finishes inside. Understands his role on the team, but isn't afraid to step up and make a big shot when he has a good look. Had some big plays down the stretch in the win over Racine Park.

Despite the close loss to Waterford, Reymundo impressed in his first high school game. The freshman guard did a nice job of getting into his mid-range jumper off of limited dribbles, and elevating to connect over an outstretched hand. Really liked the poise and confidence he played with, knowing when to keep the ball moving, while having the the confidence to get to his spots when they were there. Knocked down a handful of jumpers in an impressive freshman debut.

Tacarvion was a bright spot in a rough loss for Racine Case. The 2025 guard was a tenacious defender who was getting up and pressuring the ball hard. Offensively he was aggressive getting to the rim, and had some tough finishes through contact. Even when his team got down early, Fenderson was playing with a lot of energy and didn't show any quit when he was on the floor. Someone who could be in for a breakout senior season in the SEC.
