Season Preview: Class 5A Preseason All-State

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Louisiana basketball is in full swing as we have begun week two of play in the large classifications. Our preseason, All-state previews have not finished though. Class 5A is the last classification we have to preview. 5A is the largest class in the state and has quite a few high caliber players. This preseason team was another hard class to choose. However, these ten are some of the best of the best. These players are definitely preseason, All-state team worthy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>1st Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2218442' first='Tyshawn' last='Duncan'] (6'6" | 2026 | Alexandria High)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347180' first='Xavier' last='Ferguson'] (6'2" | 2025 | Zachary)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2132725' first='Ahmad' last='Hudson'] (6'7" | 2027 | Ruston)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347265' first='Jeremiah' last='Lucas'] (6'4" | 2025 | Bonnabel)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347276' first='Tate' last='McCurry'] (6'3" | 2025 | Catholic)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This first team could compete with all-state teams in any state. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347276' first='Tate' last='McCurry']</strong> is one of the best shooters I have seen over the years. He can put it on the deck as well which makes him a hard guard. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347265' first='Jeremiah' last='Lucas']</strong> is a two-way player who is a tough defender and a premier scorer. He can change a game with his play on either end of the floor. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1347180' first='Xavier' last='Ferguson']</strong> is as explosive as they come on the offensive end. His ability to attack the rim and finish sets him apart. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2218442' first='Tyshawn' last='Duncan']</strong> has expanded his game and is a threat from all three levels. He also protects the rim at a high level. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2132725' first='Ahmad' last='Hudson']</strong> is electrifying in transition. He turns defense into offense often and converts more times than not. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1596155' first='Nico' last='B Jones']</strong> plays both guard positions at a high level. While he is very good at both, he may be more dangerous as a pass-first point. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1679403' first='Kevin' last='White']</strong> is a guard in the same vein as Jones. His ability to get into the lane and make mid-range jumpers just kills most teams. <strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1543684' first='Autrail' last='Manning']</strong> is the best point guard and top player in his class. He can get you ten assists or score twenty any given night. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1545999' first='Kelinee' last='Stone']</strong> is highly consistent from the mid-range. He has added the post up which makes him more deadly in the half court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A lot of teams are done for Thanksgiving.
