-One of the better performances that I’ve seen from Miller as he was a bright spot for Ryken’s offense. Miller was catching and finishing well in traffic in the paint, switching ends quickly and making good decisions in transition, and has made improvements to his pivots in the paint. The improved footwork is creating much better finishing angles that are allowing him to convert floaters, finger rolls, and put backs at a higher clip.

-Miller stood out as an unselfish 2/3 tweeter that was willing to fill whatever role his team needed to get a win. Miller used his good positional size and length to be a pesk defensively both on and off the ball, collecting deflections and picking passes out of midair to really disrupt offensive flow from his opponents. Thought he was especially dynamic in transition as a finisher around the rim because of how hard he sprinted the floor to get past the defense to collect easy 2-handed dunks. Want to see the handle improve more to operate in smaller spaces and weave through traffic as he will likely need to be a guard at the next level. Should be in for a huge role in his senior season with Ryken!

Elijah has a reliable jumpshot and likes to shoot with space. He has shown moments where he can get hot and score in a hurry. Eli has a sneaky handle that he uses at times to shake off the defense and rise into his shot. Shoots the ball with confidence regardless of if he makes or misses. Elijah has some parts to his game to refine but the jumpshot has always been a staple for the Ryken prospect.

-A really creative scorer that is fun to watch, expect to see a rise from Miller in our next set of rankings after a consistent and productive sophomore year playing starter’s minutes with Ryken. Miller does most of his scoring from 15 feet and in, utilizing a smooth pump fake to duck under hard closeouts and get to his spots from the midrange for an effective 1 or 2-dribble pull up jumper. Love his patience in the halfcourt to take what the defense gives him and pass out of tough shots in traffic in the key to create for a teammate or simply reset the play.

-Probably could’ve gone a bit higher in this rankings update after seeing him in person several times over the past few weeks. Miller impacts the game as a microwave scorer that can get hot from the perimeter while still not settling for jumpers and getting to the rim to score or draw a foul. He’s got a slippery change of pace off the bounce that makes it hard to send double teams or stunt at on-ball to cut off his path to the rim. Bringing more consistency on a nightly basis as an offensive performer will likely come from an improved attention to detail on the defensive end of the floor– but the upside is there.

Miller managed to stand out as a clear tone-setter. He’s a strong, sturdy wing forward prospect with polish and a well-rounded skillset. Miller offers a versatile offensive presence between his ability to pass, dribble, shoot and alter his approach based on matchup. He utilizes his body well around the basket, creates his own shot effectively off the bounce, and is a capable spot-up 3pt threat. Miller also rebounds and offers an athletic presence on defense.
