Expert Analysis
Van Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Green is a skilled, versatile wing known for his smart play and ability to contribute alongside any teammates. He has size, athleticism, and a fundamentally sound game, excelling at both gap-filling and expanding his role as needed. Improving his strength is the next developmental step. Green uses head and pump fakes effectively, can shoot reliably off the catch, shows athleticism in transition, and protects the rim as an off-ball defender. He runs the floor well, shoots from deep—even under pressure—and leads the team in steals. Expect consistent production from Green this season as a key contributor for Coach Singletary.

Played in 22 games this year. Seem whenever Eric entered the game who knew exactly what was needed to be a solid contributor for Sidwell Friends this season. Good looking young big guard who minimizing his dribbles, moving balanced & sharply off ball to create clean catch & shoot opportunities… Eric can be a focal point for the Sidwell Friends program with continued improvement in his all-around game. Easily can see the potential Eric has in being one of the top players in the class of 2028. Smooth and effortless at times, his pull-up game can be deadly, and such a tough multi-level scorer.

-A wing prospect that earned some extended run in the John Wall Classic and a few other games early in his freshman season, Green showed a diverse skillset that speaks to his long term upside as a prospect. Green is capable of knocking down open C+S looks from the perimeter, can switch onto forwards in the paint, moves well off the ball to earn trips to the charity stripe, and plays within the team concept by moving the ball to find the open man. As some of the upperclassmen return from injury, I think he will still find a way to see the floor as a team-first guy that will make the right play in his opportunities. Seeing the floor as a freshman in a program that doesn’t often play underclassmen early bodes well for his future on Wisconsin Avenue.

-Green had some nice flashes off the bench for Sidwell as a switchable defender that can do a little bit of everything. Green went 3/3 from beyond the arc, confidently stepping in to drill shots from the wings but also mixing it up in the paint to extend possessions for his team. Will be interesting to see if he’s able to add more perimeter flair to his game to handle the rock off of reverseals while sharpening his lateral movement skills to stay in front of guards, or if he will end up as more of a 3+D tweener that can switch onto bigs. Will be an intriguing freshman season to track as Sidwell has dealt with some injuries early.

-Liked the versatility that Green brings as a long wing prospect that can shoot it at a pretty high level from the perimeter, mix it up in the paint defensively, and guard multiple spots or collect rebounds. When the motor is running hot, he impacts the game in a variety of ways. Although he competes defensively, he needs to communicate and navigate through screens at a higher level to project as a 2/3 prospect and not a 3/undersized 4 prospect. Really interested to see how he is used within a balanced Sidwell rotation this season, lots of upside here.
