Hastedt really elevated his play in the postseason, shining at the point guard spot when his team needed it most. He delivered big scoring performances, including 12 in the Great 8 and a huge 15 point outing in the semifinals. What stood out most was his ability to find the perfect balance between scoring and facilitating. He picked his spots offensively while consistently setting up teammates for easy baskets. That control, decision making and poise under pressure showed he can run a team effectively, and it’s a big reason why his stock is trending up

Lutheran is going to be a team that we start hearing more and more from as they return a pretty big name over there and move into the contender category. But one of the players who has benefited from more play, who has been their backup guards, Hastedt who has been impactful. He’s a consistent scorer who reads the floor, he is a confident shooter who excels with the ball in his hands, and he also fills it up with boards as well. When he is operating the offense, it seems to flow a bit more as he has great vision and IQ and is a willing passer. He’s a prospect who we have enjoyed watching and want to see more of as he does it all for Lutheran. 

Hastedt is a high IQ guard that got to get some minutes as a sophomore and now steps into an important junior season where he will be asked to do a ton more. He has to be ready for the pressure that opposing teams will give Lutheran, take care of the ball, and still be able to get his own, as they will need some scoring from guards this season. He’s a shifty PG that can score the ball, he competes on both ends of the floor, and runs the offense. As an under-the-radar player, this can be his opportunity to show that he’s ready for all of that and more, and we want to see him get out and prove it.
