With having spent a good deal of time covering younger classes for Prep Hoops Next, it's now time to really buckle down on these older, more college-ready South Dakota prospects. Watching all the film I can physically access in the coming weeks, I will periodically post my findings and notes as we go. This is more of an announcement of plan of events, but I also wanted to share some obvious South Dakota 17U stock-risers before fully diving in. I want to see these teams and players in multiple events/tournaments before elaborating and giving a full assessment.

17U Stock-Risers

[player_tooltip player_id='1503882' first='Thomas' last='Hoffman'] — Hoffman has shown a highly dynamic game with JBA Dynasty. He loves to push the pace and put pressure on the defense. An offensive threat as a scorer at the hoop and a steady high-volume three-point shotmaker. He was their go-to playmaker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297808' first='Easton' last='Neuendorf'] — Neuendorf's ability to show up and perform regardless of the level of competition or his individual opponent, needs to be made known. He comes to play, compete, and perform, and did so with [program_tooltip program_id='2250291' first='Hoop' last='City South Dakota']. His game-ready summer has earned him college offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545637' first='Jackson' last='Wadsworth'] — Wadsworth tested himself and performed playing up a division as a 2026 prospect. His stock is most definitely up and was named as a Prep Hoops All-Tournament team player. A sturdy build and defender that is money from three. Has potential to majorly breakout if he's assertive for Hamlin.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297809' first='Markus' last='Talley'] — The Summer stock-riser and consistent point guard, Talley, has committed to D2 Augustana University. I'll be watching more of him on the Under Armour Circuit, upcoming.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263165' first='Aiden' last='Costain'] — Costain had a solid summer from the events I saw him at. He's a non-flashy 4/5 and he brings attention and consistency on both ends. His overall production numbers could surprise this year with Harrisburg.

[player_tooltip player_id='1535886' first='Nick' last='Hanson'] — The 6'8” 4/Big has shown a lot of toughness, competitiveness, and ability to finish and score. He runs the floor and has caught some of the heads of other Prep Hoops scouts in the region.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263161' first='Maverick' last='LeBrun'] — Lebrun looks big and skilled from the off-guard spot. He's earned himself some NAIA offers because of this nice blend. His stock has steadily been trending upward and his ranking will follow suit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1380720' first='Paul' last='Parsley'] — I put on some more [program_tooltip program_id='2145852' first='SD' last='Identity'] film and hadn't, until now, realized the potential of Parsley being able to translate to a next-level point guard. At size, he's smooth and controlled with the ball as a handler and passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1342103' first='Ryan' last='Heinert'] — Heinert didn't get the deserved respect he has earned as a near-20-point scorer at the AA level and All-State selection. So he continued on and has been continuously proving himself all offseason. His ability to be a great teammate has become obvious just as much as the skills.
