Viborg-Hurley is in the championship game, and a lot of that has to do with how Hanson performed versus St. Mary’s. Obviously, he’s a factor in the paint and near the rim, but he also hit some difficult midrange fall-away jumpers. He played through contact on multiple occasions. Had some key rebounds late in the St. Mary’s game.
Game 1 vs Freeman — 9 points (4-9 FG) – 2 rebounds – 4 assists – 1 steal – 24 minutes
Game 2 vs St. Mary’s — 20 points (9-15 FG) – 8 rebounds – 1 assist – 1 steal – 30 minutes

Hanson is one that loves to compete at these type of events. His shear size and motor help him succeed in these type of situations. He made for a tough matchup as usual, especially with his ability to run the floor and stretch the floor from three.

Hanson came in as a top prospect in the 2025 class, and things left that way after the event. He showed his size in the interior with the ability to score, play away from the hoop, and finish at contact at the hoop. His size and touch as a scorer seem to overwhelm smaller opponents.

Hanson has evolved into one of the best prospects in South Dakota. While watching him, he displayed a terrific ability to punish smaller opponents on the low block. High-IQ rim protector that also rebounds well. Offensively, he shows an ability to back opponents down with the ball and attack the rim from outside. Hanson’s got excellent speed running up and down the floor, too.
