After playing sparingly in the semifinals, Brown stepped up in a big way on the biggest stage to give Judge a key spark and help make the difference in the game. The rangy young wing added an infusion of energy, coming in right away and using his lengthy frame to hit the offensive glass and create extra possessions. He showed impressive touch and dexterity as a finisher around the rim with a smooth stroke from the foul line. His length also provided a strong, disciplined contest on Neumann’s final attempt to tie the game in the closing seconds. With Neumann receiving almost nothing from its bench, Brown’s contributions were key toward determining the final result.

Earning the early nod as the top 2029 prospect in the state, Brown has made an early impact for the defending PCL and state champions in a reserve role behind a slew of D1 prospects. He stands out with blossoming length and fluid athleticism to go with a smooth dribble-pass-shoot skillset. Brown plays with composure beyond his years and a clear feel for the game that bodes well for his long-term ceiling. We’ll be eager to see more of his full repertoire this AAU season in a more featured role.

Considered by many to be the top long-term prospect among the Philly-area freshman class, Brown has the benefit of coming along slowly while playing a bench role in a lineup full of experienced upperclassmen. Still feeling the effects of an offseason shoulder injury, he had something of a coming-out party in front of the standing-room on Friday night, playing extended minutes in the second half and gaining confidence seemingly with each possession. Brown only scored 5 points but they came at critical junctures of the game. He showed confidence as a floor-spacer out to the arc, flashed the ability to create his own shot as a slasher, and thrived as a timely cutter and ball-mover in a way you don’t often see from such young prospects with his natural talent level. The flashes should only get more frequent as the season progresses, with the lanky swingman having a chance to break out on the recruiting scene as soon as this coming grassroots season.

Brown is another young prospect on this Father Judge team that boasts a high ceiling. Now standing 6’4″-6’5″ you can tell he’s still adjusting to growing into his body and really learning how to use his length to impact the game in different ways. He’s a fluid athlete and mover with some shifty tendencies and burst when operating in 1-on-1s. He showed in the game against PVI that he’s capable of knocking down shots off the catch and while a game of that magnitude is probably still a bit fast for him at this point, the instincts and feel surfaced in spurts. Brown should be considered as one of the top long-term prospects in the PCL.
