Allen is a bit of a wild card heading into the season after missing the spring and summer with injury. He emerged last season as the leading scorer at Sanford School (DE), showcasing a smooth and confident skillset while playing both on and off the ball. His game should fit smoothly into Neumann’s multi-pronged backcourt attack even if there’s an adjustment period for him to get his legs back under him and acclimate to the level of the PCL. With that said, look for Allen to play his best basketball later in the season, where he could build momentum into a big 17U summer to land on D1 radars.

Emerging quickly as a focal point for the Warriors as the year goes on, Allen impressed despite the loss with a team-high 14 points. He came out aggressive, showing a nice crispness to his attack off the bounce with clear decisiveness whenever he spotted a seam. Allen would get himself going later on as a jump shooter, knocking down a pair of second half 3s to help keep the game within reach. Above all, he stood out with infectious two-way energy and an impressive blend of both poise and confidence to his decisionmaking with a heavy load of ballhandling reps on his plate. Allen will be tracked closely moving forward with the chance to emerge as a scholarship-level prospect with appropriate development over time.

With the veteran point guard Ellegood being moved around as a chess piece on offense, Allen is maximizing his on-ball reps. His handle is functional but not inefficient. So versus man-to-man or zone, he can still tilt the defense and glide into the paint. Then, late in games, Allen gets to the free throw line and converts at a good rate.
