2028 transfers to watch in the PCL

The summer months saw the typical movement that takes place within the high school ranks, and these rising junior transfers will be sure to leave a mark on the Catholic League season.    Among the more prolific scorers in his class nationally, Phillips was the leading scorer for [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final']'s 16U group that went undefeated en route to a Peach Jam title. A wing guard with outstanding positional size, he's a dynamic downhill threat attacking the basket and is especially dangerous when he can get a head of steam in the open floor. His midrange game is also a consistent weapon and he's gradually adding to the consistency of his perimeter stroke. Phillips actually spent an injury-riddled freshman year at Wood before a move to Westtown (PA) for his sophomore year, but is back now and ready to really begin his PCL journey.     The raw numbers weren't always there and La Salle wasn't winning a lot, so it largely went under the radar that the Explorers' young big man was making significant strides in his development. Fast forward to the summer and Alston has announced himself in a real way, playing a significant role off the bench for [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final']'s Peach Jam title team and solidifying himself as one of the stronger rim protectors in the region. Alston's raw tools combined with his ability to thrive on either end of the floor within a defined role give him the chance to really see his recruitment take off in the next year. Making the move over to St. Joe's Prep (PA) for his junior season, he'll be developing under a pair of former D1 coaches and could look like a force to be reckoned with by the time the league season rolls around.     Lansdale Catholic appeared to be on the upswing last season but with a new coach has some the exodus of a slew of young talent, with Wallace flying somewhat under the radar as a key pickup for a league rival in Carroll. He emerged in a bench role last year as a valuable energy guy with projectable size, strength, and athleticism. Slotting into the starting lineup for Carroll this summer, he was a constant threat to play above the rim and infused a level of toughness that the Patriots will surely welcome. Wallace likely projects as a valued small-college prospect down the line but his athletic tools could catch eyes at the scholarship level.     Allen is a bit of a wild card heading into the season after missing the spring and summer with injury. He emerged last season as the leading scorer at Sanford School (DE), showcasing a smooth and confident skillset while playing both on and off the ball. His game should fit smoothly into Neumann's multi-pronged backcourt attack even if there's an adjustment period for him to get his legs back under him and acclimate to the level of the PCL. With that said, look for Allen to play his best basketball later in the season, where he could build momentum into a big 17U summer to land on D1 radars.     One of the more experienced 2028 guards in District 1 the past two years, Smith will make the jump to the PCL this year as part of a scrappy, guard-heavy West Catholic (PA) group. He's coming off a solid summer as a steady bench piece for [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final']'s undefeated 16U team and should bring the Burrs another reliable playmaker. His ability to get north/south off the bounce and also be a threat from the perimeter will be a welcome addition to the Burrs' rotation. It'll be an important year for Smith to begin positioning himself on scholarship-level recruiting boards heading into his 17U spring and summer.
