Team Preview: Dexter
Don’t sleep on Dexter High School in 2017-2018. They have the combination of playmakers and discipline needed to make noise in the SEC White. Here is a look at why Dexter will be a team to be reckoned with this year:
Head Coach: Tim Cain
Assistant Coach: Jon-Lamar Hamilton
2016-2017:
*12-9
*They competed well with some of the top teams in the conference. This included two losses to Ypsilanti, one of which was an overtime loss. Four of their nine losses came by 6 points or less.
Key Returners:
Drew Bishop (Senior, Guard)
Brady Rosen (Senior, Forward)
Nick Felicia (Senior, Guard)
Key Newcomers:
Caden Doll (Junior, Guard)
Andy Durand (Junior, Forward)
Josh Paquin (Junior, Forward)
Marco Lucchesi (Sophomore, Guard)
Overall Team Outlook: This is team with the ability to win 15+ games and win the SEC White. The team also has its eyes on a District Championship. While they lost 3 of the top 5 leading scorers from last season, they bring back a combination key leaders and young talent. They are a very well coached group of players. This is apparent when watching the discipline they play with. Brady Rosen and Drew Bishop will make a potent combination. Both are considered legitimate college prospects. Look for Dexter to make noise in their conference and districts and be a threat to win both.
