After taking a look at some guards in the class earlier in the week, today we’ll move on to the wings.
Below are five notable wings in the Class of 2027 that we’ll be keeping our eyes on over the coming months.
Batchelor has had his coming out party in New England the last few weeks while competing with Westminster at the NEPSAC Showcases. Already standing 6’5″, Batchelor is a big guard that can really shoot the ball from behind the arc. He’s long and lean, and right now, really utilizes his length to create space off the bounce. He’s equally comfortable shooting off the catch or the bounce and does a good job of moving without the ball on the offensive end. Defensively, he has perimeter stopper potential as he’s already a disruptive defender in passing lanes that has good lateral mobility and quick hands.

One of 2027’s most complete scorers, Bollin can get it done at all three levels with a combination of athleticism, finesse, power, and skill. A big guard that can operate as an initiator in the half-court, Bollin has impressive floor vision, can pass off the bounce with either hand, and utilize shot fakes and jab steps to get the defense off balance. He has in-the-gym range on his jumper, but also shows an advanced understanding of how to attack mismatches, including an impressive post game. Defensively, he’s an high IQ defender that can guard up and down a position due to his combination of lateral mobility and strength.

A big scoring guard, Hawkins is one of the most impressive perimeter athletes in this class. He’s a long and lean 6’6″, pushing 6’7″, that already impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he’s a serious rim protector, especially coming from the help side. He utilizes his length to jump passing lanes and create deflections and can really cover ground with his long strides. He has an advanced offensive game that includes an array of finishing moves in the paint. He can make plays above the rim and is a tough cover when he can get downhill off the bounce and utilize his length to finish at the hoop.

Ibidapo, who has an impressive combination of athleticism and length, has the potential to be one of the best perimeter defenders in the class. One of the longest prospects in the class, he’s a quick second jumper that covers ground in a hurry. He’s already a disruptive on both defender that has both quick hands and great lateral mobility. Offensively, he does a good job of running the floor in transition, cleans up on the offensive glass, and has even shown flashes of consistency from behind the arc. He’s a tough cover off the bounce and should only continue to get better as he adds strength.
Highlights
Vick, a three level scorer, has one of the best scoring packages in this class. He has good positional size and has shown signs of being able to operate as a secondary playmaker on the offensive end. He has a consistent jump shot with a quick release and is capable of getting hot in a hurry from behind the arc. He’s improved off the bounce and is a crafty finisher around the rim. He’s does a good job of changing speeds and directions and knows how to get to his spots off the bounce. Defensively, he’s capable of guarding both backcourt spots and does a nice job of keeping opposing ball-handlers out of the paint.
