Many of the top high school teams on the west coast and beyond made their way to Arizona to play in front of droves of college coaches. We were in attendance and below are the best big men we saw on the weekend.
Alan Gballou

| 2025 | Layton Christian (UT)
Gballou is a physical specimen at 6-feet-7 and a burly 220-plus pounds. He used his strength to seal deep post position and provide a big target for post-entry passers to hit. It’s nearly impossible to stop Gballou if he gets the ball with two feet in the paint as he leverages space by dropping his shoulder into the defender to create space to finish at the rim. Gballou is a high motor rebounder and transition rim-runner.
Andrew Bhesania | 2025 | Boulder Creek (AZ)
Bhesania has a true inside-out skill-set complete with the ability to knock down open catch and shoot threes. The 6-foot-8 forward showed elite touch and footwork around the basket and the perimeter feel to handle the ball in dribble hand-off action or rebound the defensive glass, push the break and create for himself or teammates.
Brandon Benjamin

Benjamin might not have the true size of a traditional big man but his back to the basket feel and touch around the rim are among the best we saw in this event. The 6-foot-5 forward can face-up and drive by defenders with a series of hesitations and dribble moves to create shots for himself and his teammates with his high level vision. The rising senior averaged 24.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in this event.
Douglas Langford

| 2025 | St. Pius X-St. Matthias (CA)
Langford is a highly-efficient traditional type big man who uses his strong frame and mobility to bury defenders in front of the rim for high percentage finishes. The 6-foot-8, 215-plus pound rising senior plays true to his position and to his strengths, which is why he scores at such a high percentage. Langford led St. Pius to a 4-0 record and the championship of its bracket.
Jamyn Sondrup

Springville | 2026

UT
| 2026 | Springville (UT)
Sondrup was one of the revelations of this event – at least for me. The 6-foot-9, 225-pound center is a versatile and high motor big man who can impact the offensive side of the floor in a variety of ways. Springville uses Sondrup in a playmaker type of role as he’s great when trailing the play and used at the top of the key to reverse the ball into ball screens or dribble hand off action. Sondrup has soft hands and good footwork when rolling to the basket and can catch, gather and score in one motion. He also stepped out onto the perimeter and knocked down face-up shots.
Nate Garcia Nate Garcia 6'10" | C Damien | 2025 State #385 Nation CA-S | 2025 | Damien (CA)
Garcia plays as true to the position as a five man can. The 7-foot, 260-plus pound center keeps it simple on his post touches with jump hooks, drop step finishes and up and under buckets with either hand. Garcia is a good positional defender against opposing bigs with his sheer size and strength deterring guards and bigs from trying to challenge his shot blocking ability.
Neil Summers | 2025 | Laramie (WY)
Summers is a highly-skilled hybrid forward who can do a little bit of everything offensively. With his combination of basketball IQ, ball skills and vision, Summers was initiating offense at the point guard spot for most of the game that we watched. The 6-foot-8 big man also scored in isolation where he used the dribble to get into the lane where he could turn his back to the basket a beat his defender with a post move.
Xavion Staton | 2025 | Sierra Vista (NV)
Staton is one of the country’s elite defensive centers and he backed up that statement at Section 7. The bouncy 7-footer averaged nearly four blocks per game and had three games of double-digit rebounds. Staton’s high motor and communication as a ball screen defender allow him to anchor Sierra Vista’s team defensive scheme.
