The states of Rhode Island, Vermont and Maine overall have a great group of talented prospects in the class of 2027. Today, I will be highlighting five names that have impressed me in their freshman year! Let's get started

[player_tooltip player_id='2470923' first='Colin' last='Mburu'] is a shooting guard who shows the groundwork for becoming a future stud in the college game. He can shoot the ball well from the corner spots, with a smooth left-handed jump shot. Mburu can also make the right decisions with the ball, using his high IQ to create opportunities for teammates even without being in charge of running the offensive show. He runs well on the fast break as well and scores effortlessly at the basket. Mburu's defense is also impressive for his age, using a nice base and athletic wiggle, along with great timing, to create turnovers. Mburu is still in the early stages, but he looks like a player who should continue to get better and should be a player coaches will covet.

[player_tooltip player_id='2408951' first='Jack' last='Lafayette'] is a combo guard ball handler whose game is based upon passing and shooting. He has a tight handle and moves the ball on a string in the half-court. Lafayette typically makes the right reads and the potential to control the offense on a full-term basis is real. Off the ball, he shoots the ball extremely well, with a picturesque form and amazing touch. Lafayette can also shoot on the ball and looks good with movement shooting and pull-ups from the top of the key. Defensively, he competes hard and uses quick hands to easily create turnovers. Lafayette's offensive game should take a bigger leap with more ball-handling opportunities and a team needing shooting and passing should look into him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470930' first='Ethan' last='Njenga'] is a guard who shows intensity on the defensive end and speed on the offensive end. He uses his body well on defense and the attitude and effort he displays show out in full force in making a difference on that end. Njenga can run and he uses that well on offense and combines that with a stellar pace to make defenders scratch their heads. He can shoot off the ball from the corners, diversifying his offensive attack. Njenga's finishing is also impressive as he can finish at the cup with either hand. If he can get more on-ball opportunities, he is a likely candidate for a massive breakout, and someone coaches should get familiar with pronto.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470957' first='Justin' last='Urey'] is an undersized guard who has tons of skill on the offensive side of the ball. A slick ball handler, he can get to his spots with a complex dribble package and good side-to-side movement. Urey is comfortable taking mid-range jumpers when he creates space and isn't afraid of shooting off the dribble from three. He is also a smart passer who makes solid reads around the perimeter and finds open teammates on his drives to the basket. Defensively, Urey acts as a pest by deflecting the ball and creating turnovers. While his physical tools work against him, the skill he shows at this point should overcome that to some extent, making him a player that coaches can get behind.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470868' first='Jervon' last='Brown'] is an athletic forward who has tons of potential. He already has the ideal body type that wing players need, while showing skills on both sides of the court. Brown is a terrific rebounder, jumping in the air and being a menace on the boards. He also shows his rebounding skills on both sides of the court which leads to winning basketball. Brown is a strong transition finisher who gets going with his speed and agility. This makes him a really tough guard in the fast break, always acting as a runaway train at certain times. With the future addition of a jumper to be more of an impact in the half-court, Brown could skyrocket and turn heads quickly.
