Really like the way he finds different ways to impact the game whether it’s touching the paint on the attack and finding teammates for scoring chances scoring looks of their own. Even though he wasn’t a primary scorer he can find the bucket in an array of ways. He doesn’t blow you away with flashiness, but he cautiously makes the winning play time after time. I think that’s one of the reasons why he should see a heavy attention at the low and mid major level this spring and summer.

Whenever I watch Njenga during AAU, I remember the dynamic scoring ability that he presents (which is sometimes not as prevalent during the high school season with his ultra-talented St. George’s squad). The 6-foot guard is so under-control and balanced with the ball in his hands, so he’s great at hitting little turnaround shots and floaters in the lane, even when defenders try to overpower him and push him off his spot. He gets by his initial defender effortlessly, and then he makes good decisions in the lane for himself or others. An improved three-point shooting stroke would be a key turning point in Njenga’s recruitment going forward, and this AAU season will be a key time for him to work on it.

Njenga impressed with his versatility. He frequently touches the paint. He spent time at the foul line and made the most of his chances. He had 11 points in a win over Albany Academy. He did a good job of making plays for others and creating offense.

Njenga was easily BABC’s most consistent playmaker and scorer against a tough Team Sims defense. The 6-foot guard easily gets into the paint with his quickness and speed but can also burn you from the perimeter with his three point shooting. He was BABC’s best passer and also most confident ball handler, and he also competes like a madman on the defensive end. I think he’s going to really turn heads for St. George’s this season and be a larger part of their offense than people might think. Scholarship schools should be intrigued by Njenga.

Like Payne, I’ve seen Njenga play in both high school and AAU, and his game translates quite well to streetball. Despite the double rims, the 6-foot guard is a total knock down shooter from the mid range and is able to hit his shot going left and right, fading or balanced. He also has a great finishing bag at the hoop and can finish both athletically over bigs and quickly around slower players. Njenga will have a breakout year with St. George’s if I had to guess, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some offers roll in for him shortly. Such an impressive combination of skill and IQ.

Njenga is a shifty guard who routinely made plays with the ball in his hands. He has an electric first step that allows him to get into the lane. Njenga also was a threat to score from three and from spots in the mid-range. He has a great feel for the game. Njenga turned defense to offense regularly and operates smoothly in transition. He is a prospect who tracks as a low to mid major prospect.

Njenga is such a well-rounded two way player, and there isn’t really anything he can’t do on the basketball court. The 6-foot guard has an excellent handle and solid quickness, which allows him to blow by defenders effortlessly and get to the front of the rim. He’s a great finisher with contact but he’s also super impressive in the midrange and can knock down threes as well. He’s so controlled and makes all the right decisions on that end. Defensively, he’s a ball hawk with fantastic hands and lateral quickness who was giving opposing guards hell all weekend. The sophomore guard should be a key player for St. George’s next season.

Njenga, a member of the 16U 3SSB squad, is a talented scoring guard out of St. George’s School in Rhode Island. A capable scorer, he’s done a great job this spring of running the show when asked to, showing that he can facilitate at a high level. He’s a creative ball-handler that knows how to navigate ball screens and also has the ability to break down defenders in isolation situations. He has good burst when attacking the rim, sees the floor well in the half-court and in transition, and continues to improve his consistency as a shooter. Defensively, he’s really good on the ball, making things hard for opposing ball-handlers and creating plenty of steals and deflections with his activity level.

Njenga came up with big play after big play in this contest. Whether it was massive offensive rebounds, getting to loose balls, or getting steals, he does all of the little things and plays his butt off. He also had multiple really nice takes to the rim where he showcased his quick first step and high touch off the glass. Most impressive was his passing ability, which is very advanced for his age. The sophomore has such a bright future ahead, and I’m mad at myself for not noticing that until now; it’s easy for him to fly under the radar on this squad until you realize the effort and unselfishness he plays with day after day.

had some awesome moments on the offensive end. Constantly attacking the rim with ferocity, he was playing through contact and finishing well around the basket. When the defense started to send double teams, he would leverage that pressure well by finding the open man on the outside with kickouts and racked-up assists with this strategy. His confidence stood out to me as well and it was great to see him thrive in a complementary role.
