Physically imposing forward that I got to see last weekend have a dominant performance at the Franklin ID Camp. High motor big man that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Big time rebounder and mobile big man that is a switchable defender. Offensively he’s a versatile inside-out piece that does a little bit of everything for the Dragons.

. The 6’7” Forward out of Silver Creek was the most physically dominant player at the camp. His combination of size and skill was showcased in the drills and it carried over into the live action. They physical forward showcased his full offensive potential with strong post finishes, the ability to play out of the mid-post and face up, fantastic pick and roll threat, and showed he was a capable three-point shooter off the catch. It was one of the better performances that I’ve ever seen at an elite camp and it should carry into July as well as into his senior season.

It was good to see Whitehead out on the floor and making an impact for Silver Creek. There is certainly no shortage of size on this team and Whitehead, a 6’6″ forward with incredible physical tools, is a key piece of the front court. He is an outstanding rebounder and really hard for others to handle around the basket. Look for him to potentially have a breakout June with the Dragons.

A big, physical post prospect that is only scratching the surface of just how good he can be. An absolute stud on the boards on both ends of the floor. He’s a mobile big that’s capable of impacting the game on both ends. Has shown flashes of his offensive potential with his ability to knock down catch and shoot 3’s, as well as score around the basket. He’s a solid defender that can switch for short periods and contain.

Whitehead brings good size and strength down in the paint, capable of drawing immediate attention once catching the rock. Effective scoring around the rim through contact, they are set up for success in year two at Durango. His footwork has continued to make strides around the paint, adding counters or off-hand finishes to his arsenal. Defensively, the forward’s strength and high motor allow him to compete against multiple positions.

A high-level Class of 2027 prospect in the state of Colorado, Whitehead is headed back to Indiana to play his sophomore season at Silver Creek High school. We say back because the 6’6″ forward came up in the Silver Creek middle school system. Whitehead’s size and athleticism standout first and foremost, but he also has the skill level on the perimeter and in the front court to create consistent mismatches against opposing defenses. His return to an already young and very talented Dragons roster will make them that much more dangerous this season and into the future.

Whitehead quickly garnered recognition for his early production in the Southwestern corner of the state, Durango. Although recently transferring to the Front Range, specifically Silver Creek High School, we will quickly be getting plenty of looks at the physically imposing prospect. Already capable of facing up or converting turnaround attempts in the mid-range, he has plenty of skill to create opportunities inside the arc. Following dramatic roster turnover from various graduations at Silver Creek, Whitehead will have ample opportunities to prove himself this coming season.

A strong forward who has continued to progress as an athlete throughout the summer, Whitehead’s strength and motor catapulted him into a great season with Durango. Transferring to Silver Creek, the front range will get a better look at the incoming sophomore very soon.
