EYBL Memphis: Scotty B's Saturday Notebook

It was a full day of basketball at Nike EYBL in Memphis on Saturday.  We give you a look here at what we saw in EYBL Memphis: Scotty B's Saturday Notebook!   Meanstreets Quartet Shines in 15U Win vs Pro Skills   The Big 4 did their thing for Meanstreets 15U in their 66-52 victory over Pro Skills on Saturday morning.  They got contributions across the board.  In the second half it was Jaxson Davis who absolutely took over.  The Warren guard is a southpaw that is so dynamic with the rock in his hands.  Plus shooter from three that is slick getting to the hoop scoring on acrobatic layups netting 28 points.  His running mate Davion Thompson of Bolingbrook also was excellent in this one scoring in the mid-range with his sweet jumper along with getting out in transition where he shook guys for scores notching 15 points.  Whitney Young forward Howard Williams continues to impress.  He had 12 points and a good number of rebounds playing mostly the four where he was matched up a legit center and more than handled him on the boards with his quickness while also being able to step out and hit threes.  East Peoria 2027 small forward Quinton Kitt is an elite connector that rebounds, passes, and defends.  Also hit a couple threes en route to 10 points.   Quincy Baker was the prospect that popped to us for Pro Skills out of Texas.  The point guard is a good defender with active hands getting steals.  Liked the passing feel and has a nice jumper netting 11 points.  Mason Shephard is another guard to track as the lefty two guard is a crafty slasher with a pull up game.   Team United 16U Wins Behind Big 3rd Quarter over Brad Beal Elite   This one Brad Beal Elite looked very good in the first half and Team United took control of the game in the 3rd period going on to win 72-66.  Came away very impressed with bouncy post Justin Caldwell for Team United.  The 6'9” five man jumped off the floor with his long and lanky frame along with being able to seal on the block and finish out of the dunker spot.  Quick to the glass with his bounce.  He had 13 points.  Next to him inside Isaiah Knight shined with his ability to stretch the floor with his shooting as a five man knocking in a pair of threes along with being physical on the boards and defensively.  He had 12 points.  On the perimeter Trey Beamer was dynamic from his combo guard spot.  Plus shooter that knocked in threes along with acrobatic finishes around the hoop for 18 points.  Markus Kerr is a big guard to track with his size, athleticism, and feel for the game as he had 12 points.   JJ Andrews led the way for Brad Beal Elite.  The Arkansas native is an athletic and powerful slasher that is among the top wings in the country in the 2026 class.  He is relentless getting downhill and out in transition.  Cuts off the ball to the hoop and gets a lot of and-1s.  Tough and hard nosed wing needs to get better at the line as he was only 5-12 from there while shooting 9-18 from the field on the way to 24 points.  Ty Edwards is a slashing wing that has an angular frame.  Like him as an inside/outside forward that can score in the paint or hit a three.  Went for 7 points.  Saw flashes out of Sunrise Christian small forward Miikka Muurinen in the first half.  Athletic and bouncy 6'10” four man soared for a big alley-oop, hit a deep three, and had a put back.  Wasn't super aggressive scoring 7 points, but the upside is huge!   Pro Skills 16U Wing Duo Dominate in Victory against Mac Irvin Fire   Next up we saw Pro Skills score a 82-63 victory against the Mac Irvin Fire 16U.  It was all about Cameron Lomax and Seven Spurlock!  This wing duo was an absolute force for Pro Skills.  Cameron Lomax is a shooting guard that was consistently in attack mode from the jump.  He had 17 points on an efficient 7-12 from the field.  Spurlock was equally as impressive with his strong and physical frame slashing and getting to the line at a high rate where he shot 7-7.  Scored 16 points in the win.   For the Fire it was their trio of top 10 ranked prospects in the Prep Hoops Illinois 2026 rankings that led the way again.  Kankakee long and rangy small forward Lincoln Williams showed flashes as a two way wing making shots inside the arc and at the cup while getting to the line finishing with 12 points.  Jamson Coulter got off to a fast start in this one.  The Rich Township scoring guard banged in a pair of threes early in the contest.  Physical guard that can score from all three levels had 16 points (5-13 FG).  Another volume scoring combo guard is Kenwood's Rajan Roberts who can put the ball in the hoop.  Pushes with speed in transition and got to the line for 15 points (5-13 FG).   Expressions 15U Wing Shows Out against Mac Irvin Fire   It was a strong effort out of Northeast EYBL power Expressions Elite 15U who knocked off the Mac Irvin Fire 73-53.  Greyson Pierce was an absolute star for Expressions.  The jumbo wing has great size and skill. Plus shot maker from the perimeter going 2-2 from three.  He is a smooth ball handler slashing and finishes well at the cup.  Also got to the line at a high rate finishing with 21 points on 7-11 from the field.  Power guard Josiah Adamson is one to watch.  Bowling ball type guard that is a tough cover downhill notching 10 points.  Also like the upside of big man Salim Diaby who is a legit five that finishes out of the dunker spot and rebounds well as he had 8 points.   For the Fire it was their superstar Kenwood's Devin Cleveland who led the way with 15 points (7-17 FG).  Shot it pretty well inside the arc with a smooth pull up mid-range game and weaves through the defense with ease. Scores well in transition and has a ton of fluidity to his game.  St. Francis de Sales guard Michael Woods is a smaller scoring guard that uses his quickness and speed in the open floor to convert at the rim on reverse layups along with euro steps.  Damari Stephens is a tough and physical wing that loves to put pressure on the rim as he had 7 points.  Lindblom guard Ed Williams is a sleeper who notched 11 points.   Brad Beal Elite 17U Wins 2 OT Thriller vs LivOn   It took everything Brad Beal Elite had to score a 81-79 victory in double OT against LivOn out of Louisiana.  BBE blew the lead late in regulation as LivOn sent it to the first overtime.  Then Chi-Prep standout Tristian Ford made a spectacular play getting a steal and going the other way for a three to send it to the second extra session.  Brad Beal  Elite secured the win at the line to win.   They were led by Chi-Prep point guard Tristian Ford.  The long and lanky lefty plays a similar style to a De'Aaron Fox in the NBA.  Slick ball handler that early in the game was getting steals and turning them into points on the other end.  As the game went on he hit some big threes finishing with 15 points.  Father Tolton wing Exavier Wilson erupted in this one scoring 18 points.  The STL big man duo of Nicholas Randall and Jahadi White played a major role in the win.  Randall is a face up four from Vashon that brings athleticism and face up shooting.  Rim runner that finishes and can deck it on his own as he had 12 points and 7 rebounds.  White is a wide bodied five that carves out space on the interior finishing in the high/low and owns the glass.  Vianney sharp shooter Luke Walsh hit some big shots in this one going 3-6 from distance en route to 13 points.   Mike Williams gave it everything he had for LivOn as the scoring guard lived in the lane all evening along with hitting 3-6 from deep scoring 30 points on the evening including 11-15 from the field and 5-5 from the line.  He was an absolute force with his acrobatic finishes.  Andrew Timmons can also put it in the hoop from the wing position as he is an efficient and effective player scoring 11 points.  Joshua Clark might have the highest ceiling on this squad. This five man has legit size and length.  Plus shot blocker that gets on the offensive glass for second chance points and can pass out of a double.  Good touch on free throws as he had 10 points and 10 rebounds.   Perimeter Trio Leads Team CP3 17U over Meanstreets   It was a dominant performance from the Team CP3 trio of Joshua Dixon, Isaiah Denis, and Jackson Keith.  Dixon is a calm, cool, and collected guard that can score from all three levels and is a solid passer.  He had 18 points.  Isaiah Denis is a silky smooth two guard that has a feathery stroke from three draining them at a high clip.  Mixed in sweeping layups and mid-range jumpers for 16 points.  Power wing Jackson Keith is a crafty scorer that gets in the paint and finishes with force.  He was a monster off the bounce for 18 points.   Meanstreets got a big first half out of Antonio Munoz as the top 5 prospect from Illinois notched 9 of his 11 points in the first session.  Explosive and-1 slash and scored in transition.  Phillips combo guard EJ Horton showed flashes while scoring 8 points with soft touch finishes and coast to coast takes.   2027 Wings Battle in Jet Academy vs Brad Beal Elite 15U Clash   It was a true battle of top talents in the 2027 class that came down to the wire as Brad Beal Elite 15U knocked off Jet Academy 76-74 on a game winning dime from Scottie Adkinson to Joshua Huggins a 2028 prospect who scored the final two of his 16 points as the clock expired.  Scottie Adkinson from Webster Groves in Missouri is a top 25 prospect nationally and he displayed why in this one with his three level scoring.  Sweeping layups, step back threes, and crisp ball handling.  Knack for putting the ball in the hoop as the 6'3” guard netted 21 points along with the game winning dime.  Vashon combo guard Jimmy McKinney has star written all over him with his smooth all-around game as he notched 16 points   For Jets Academy it was Zain Majeed who made a major impression in this one.  The 6'7” IMG (FL) high-motored wing is a skilled all-around player that can score, pass, and rebound.  Versatile as a scorer, but was at his best getting to the rim and finishing off two feet which he did quite often against BBE scoring 20 points.   Team CP3 16U Balance Helps Them Score Win over Mac Irvin Fire   This one was Team CP3 for most of the game.  They were extremely balanced winning over the Mac Irvin Fire 75-66.  Ayden Johnson is a smaller point guard that was very effective with his soft touch finishing game and getting to the line.  Nifty finisher had 15 points.  Kaleel Benjamin is a big wing with plus athleticism.  Thew down an alley oop and several other transition conversions for 14 points.   For the Fire it was Aamir Shannon who had a monster second half.  The Joliet West shooting guard flashed during the spring and had a big showing on Saturday night.  The 2026 guard is a plus shooter off the catch that drained 5-7 from deep on his way to 21 points for the game.  The other two in-state prospects that were most effective in this one were Kankakee's Lincoln Williams and Kenwood's Rajan Roberts.  The lanky Williams did most of his damage in the paint using his long strides scoring in the open floor or off the bounce netting 12 points.  The explosive Roberts had a stretch in the second half where it looked like he was going to take over with several magnificent takes finishing with 10 points.  Wasatch Academy (UT) shooting guard Mariano Manciel scored 16 points as the wiry two guard is a plus athlete with a crisp jumper.   Team Why Not 16 Closes Out Night With Victory against Meanstreets 16U   Meanstreets jumped out 12-0 to begin the game and from that point on it was mostly Team Why Not as the California squad would go on to win 77-59. We came away very impressed with their 2026 shooting guard SJ Madison. He is an absolute freak show athlete that is so explosive and twitched up as a finisher in the paint. Threw down a nasty tomahawk off a steal. Also showed he could knock down jumpers as well scoring 16 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.   Early on the combination of top 2026 in Illinois Gabriel Sularski finding New Trier sharp shooter Danny Houlihan was a great connection.  Sularski displayed his passing feel early.  As the game went on he got to the line where he was 7-7 along with hitting a three and getting on the glass for 14 points.  Houlihan continues to boost his stock after a strong showing in the state tournament finishing with 14 points including 4-8 from three.  Solid all-around game from Whitney Young combo guard Marquis Clark.  He stuffed the stat sheet for 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 dimes.  Smooth player that is best with the rock in his hands.
