Expert Analysis
Justus Miranda | Prep Hoops Scout
Incredible finisher at the rim. Slices through defenders, spins off his man, and always figures out a way to score whether he is double-teamed or going through contact, drawing multiple and-ones along the way. Has a knack for readjusting his body and the ball to somehow put it in, particularly once he gets downhill into the lane. What makes him dangerous is that he can also pull up from the midrange and hit it from deep, so defenders never know what is coming. Just a pure scorer. Fantastic on-ball defense as well, staying attached and forcing tough looks. Plays under control and converts when he gets there.

Great change of pace to shake defender finish with stepback middy. Followed with a deep three on the following possession. Carter was incredible both days. Impressive ability to shoot the three off the dribble. Creates opportunities for his teammates. High level vision and passing ability. Carter was named the top overall player at camp and top 20 game MVP finishing with 20+ points in that game. I had the opportunity to coach Carter in the top 20 game and he showed tremendous leadership and coachability.

A do-it all scorer who can get a bucket at all three levels against high level competition, taking home the tournament MVP award. He’s really developed as a shooter, extending his range and knocking down multiple NBA range threes on pull up attempts. He can get to his spots in the midrange with ease, whether it’s through a quick hesitation and burst or working off the pick and roll, he is elite at creating separation for a clean look.

Forced the defense to collapse with his ability to attack the paint, using his frame and body control to finish through contact or earn trips to the free-throw line. He complemented his rim pressure by knocking down catch-and-shoot threes and making defenses pay with his mid-range pull-up when they ran him off the line. Defensively, he played with discipline, moved his feet well, and used his physicality to keep ball handlers out of rhythm while making every possession difficult.
