Hopkins was effective running the floor an transition throughout the game. He had good touch around the bucket and converted on several attempts around the block. Hopkins was assertive on the glass and was in good spots to secure rebounds. His length allowed him to alter shots down low. Earlier today Hopkins announced that he will be taking his talents to Abington Friends School for 2025-26.

There’s a lot to be said for prospects who take at least an incremental step forward with each viewing, and it’s certainly fair to say Hopkins has earned that tag up to this point. Saturday was no different despite an early-morning loss as the southpaw forward showed off a leaner, springier (and potentially taller?) frame with continued hints of enhanced perimeter skill to match. A natural junkyard dog on the interior, Hopkins has worked hard to gradually expand his game, showing signs on Saturday of a smoother stroke out to 3 off the catch and a more refined game attacking slower forwards off the bounce. He remains a versatile and active defender who plays bigger than his size as a rebounder. Hopkins has established himself as a scholarship-level prospect, and with an expected move to 2027, could certainly earn D1 attention down the line with his proven track record of improvement.

At the Pitt Jam Fest, Hopkins proved once again that he is an unstoppable open court threat. His ability to grab a defensive rebound, outlet the ball and then sprint down court like a gazelle for a lay-in or flush is remarkable. On half-court possessions, Hopkins generated points via dives to the cup and by attacking the rim off the bounce from the wing or elbows. Hopkins flashed a low post game and grabbed offensive rebounds for put backs too. On defense, his enormous wingspan and instincts enabled Hopkins to disrupt passing lanes, block shots and dominate the boards. Across four games in Pittsburgh, Hopkins posted 13.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest.

Tools, motor, and playing hard are Hopkins’s major selling points and he repeatedly put them on display against high-level teams this fall. He shows his versatility with the havoc he causes at the top of WC’s press and zone defenses. When his activity in-space doesn’t stagnate offenses, it speeds them up and out of control. His low post scoring comes in spurts, but Hopkins is always a threat to generate second-chance opportunities as a rebounder.

in their transition game. In the half-court, Hopkins will provide as scoring punch in the mid-range, on cuts to the basket and in the dunker spot. From the wing, Hopkins has been known to execute a rip through and then use one or two dribbles to get to the cup.

Even the basketball community in Philly is still figuring out how good of a prospect Hopkins is. The long-armed wing-forward continues to alter the geometry of the court with his ability to protect the rim vertical and disrupt driving lanes and passing windows horizontally. His offense isn’t as loud, but he contributes with his motor as a rebounder and low post scorer.
