Surging Sophomores Pt. 4 | (Free)
Tyler Young – 6’6” PF – Dudley HS
Young is what many would call a “throwback big man. He loves to seek out contact inside and beats up on his opponents. He uses head-fakes well and makes really quick post moves inside that keep shot blockers off balance. He will potentially be a huge issue in the post for majority of his opponents should his body and athleticism continue developing.
Aidan Pearson – 6’5” F – Freedom HS
Pearson is the type of forward that flat out gets the job done no matter who it’s against. He has a nice body, good strength and has shown the ability to play really well within a system. Probably one of the more efficient players his size in his class. Coming off of an injury in his freshman season, it may take a little time to get back to form, but he’s definitely one to watch regardless.
Cedez Norman – 6’2” PG – Plymouth
A mid-season varsity call-up as a freshman, Cedez has all of the tools to become an solid point guard prospect. He excels at keeping the dribble alive and routinely gets all the way to the rim when he attacks the paint. Loves to use the glass and can create his own shot against virtually any defender. Should he revamp his body & develop more explosiveness, he could do some serious damage as a scoring point guard.
Derek Young – 6’4” F – Union Academy
Strong. Derek possesses a body right now that could take the punishment that most college level players go through. At the high school level, he’s just too strong for most opponents to handle on drives to the basket. He’s also an underrated passer in drive & kick situations. Should he grow some more, he could become a matchup nightmare on the wing & inside. Very quick for his size and strength.
