Continue ReadingThere were several games that I scouted this week that had some great young talent. Some of these players saw more playing time than the next person, but one thing that these players have in common is that they can all play basketball well, at a high number. These article is talking about the best players that I have seen the past two weeks. None of these players are seniors, which that rounds out the baseline requirements to make this list. Lets find out who made it and why.
Denton Forsyth has become more under the spotlight as his brother has taken over Oklahoma by storm the past two years. His brother is the #1 senior in the state and is committed to the University of Oklahoma. Many speculate that Denton has the potential and ability to walk in his brother’s footsteps or surpass him. That is something that only time can tell, but he has flashed the potential to accomplish that. When I watched him play, he showed the ability to shoot the ball while playing within the system of his team, as he knocked down a couple of three pointers. He did a good job of driving the gap and kicking to open shooters. This led to him having a couple of assist, but his teammates had many more great looks from it than what was reflected in the box score. The thing that stuck out to me the most about him is how much effort he put into playing defense. He was fighting through screens and deflecting passes out of bounds. He had a steal and forced another turnover, too. He is a player that does not care about the spotlight and cares more helping his team win.
Logan Knol Logan Knol 6’6″ | SF Edmond North | 2025 State OK is a player that has caught my attention as a great sixth man for the two time defending champions and #1 team in the state. He provides high energy, as he will hustle continually for loose balls and fight for rebounds. With him not having a lot of minutes, he finds ways to make an impact. He comes away with a solid amount of rebounds for how much he plays. His impact with the scoring does the same thing, as he will run in transition and find a way to score inside. He played solid perimeter and interior defense in the two games that I watched him in. He came away with a couple of blocks and steals, as well as contesting shots fluently. His impact is felt all over the game.
Highlights
Anthony Tucker Anthony Tucker 5’11” Harding Charter Preparatory | 2026 OK showed that he can score in multiple ways, as he scored 20 points against the Oklahoma Christian School. He had three three-pointers and showed that he can score with mid-range floaters. Not only did he score consistently from those two spots, he flashed the ability to finish at the rim, having one play that he finished with the foul. He went on and made the free throw to complete the and-one. Outside of scoring inside one other time and knocking down two free throws, his only contribution was with him grabbing a rebound. He flashed a lot of potential to be able and score the ball.
Blake Johnson Blake Johnson 6’6″ | PF Sand Springs | 2025 State OK played well in the second half. He has solid size, standing at 6’6. He left his fingerprints all over the glass, as he grabbed one rebound after another. On defense, he had a couple of steals and a block. The thing that stuck out to me the most was that he regularly scored inside. There were times that he utilized his size to clear space and score at the rim. He flashed the potential to be a good cutter. Rebounding, inside scoring, and his defense highlight the reason for his impact. It was a great game from him against the #1 team in the state.
Hudson Franz Hudson Franz 5’10” | PG Edmond Memorial | 2026 State OK is the #14 ranked prospect in Oklahoma in the class of 2026. He showed why he has that ranking to start off the game that saw. He had 20 points in the first quarter with a barrage of three pointers. He ended the game with 28 points, showing off a wide range of moves to score. These consisted of him making a three pointer over a defender, him knocking down a three off of the dribble, and ending the game with five three-pointers. Outside of his shooting, he showed that he can make mid-range jumpers and also score at the rim. His defensive impact consisted of him showing that he was able to come away with steals and blocks. It was a great game for him.
